Wow, now she's willing to sacrifice and throw out her religion for political gain. Or is this just part of her insanity? :)

::chuckle::....it's how she actually feels...before being filtered by the left wing media.....It's obvious to most people they have tried every way they can to demonize her...

The video on that is going to kill the left, and blow away 90% of their talking points.

This was a non-issue from the start.  The only thing Palin has ever favored in schools, in terms of creationism, is discussing it if it came up in science class.  I find that a hard position to argue against, really.  If you don't discuss creationism in science class, you leave kids open to the kind of weak-minded arguments you hear from some creationists.  You also leave them vulnerable to other forms of pseudo-science, because they don't learn how to recognize unscientific thinking and arguments when they see them.  And finally, if teachers don't have to deal with creationism, it makes it too easy to give a dumbed-down version of evolution that leaves enough holes you could drive a Mack truck through them.  If the teachers have to show where ID or creationism fall short, they have to give a more complete picture of evolution.

The last thing this country needs is a more shallow curriculum.

Oh yeah, the fact that Palin looks better in a posed, studio airbrushed photo than Hilary does in a grainy candid photo is proof positive that Palin is by far the superior politician.

The Clinton photo looks like it was taken from someone's cell phone -- or maybe captured from a (non-HD) TV screen and enlarged...

Having said that, it captures fairly accurately one of the things I've never liked about Clinton:  Insincerity.  She's basically all image, no reality.  Maybe it's just that she's not comfortable with crowds, but her attempts to be personable just fall short.  She's nothing like her husband, in that way.

But this thread is about Palin, so I'll get back on topic...

This really isn't a change from what she's said all along.  She's not in favor of putting creationism in the curriculum.  That might be because she knows it'll never fly, or it might be because she recognizes that her beliefs don't constitute a scientific idea.

Either way, it shows she isn't about pushing her religious agenda in government.

I'm actually more concerned about her anti-gay beliefs, because those are easier to implement.  I haven't heard anything to suggest that she's been a player in that debate, either, though.

:lmao:  Yah, that always stops her type.

I believe the Wasilla Bible Church, her whacky spiritual home where she was religiously trained, and then returned for events and spoke as Governor next to the nutjob preacher, is for converting gays through prayer - i.e. pray the gay away.  This is the kind of archaic-based mentality we are dealing with.  Here is one article on it:

Actually, Brian, I am finding that she would like Creationism taught in schools, even though the teaching of Creationism, which relies on the biblical account of the creation of life, has been ruled by the U.S. Supreme Court as an unconstitutional injection of religion into public education:

In a 2006 gubernatorial debate, the soon-to-be governor of Alaska said of evolution and creation education, "Teach both. You know, don’t be afraid of education. Healthy debate is so important, and it’s so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both."

Story HERE.

But NAH, her religion doesn't or wouldn't get involved in any policy-related activity. ::chuckle::

Hi, Frank.

You should really try more neutral sources for information.  (I mean, The Huffington Post?  The Lang Report?   Serously...???)

Here's the story from the AP

Here's the relevant passage:

Associated Press wrote:In a subsequent interview with the Daily News, Palin said discussion of alternative views on the origins of life should be allowed in Alaska classrooms. "I don't think there should be a prohibition against debate if it comes up in class. It doesn't have to be part of the curriculum," she said.

"It's OK to let kids know that there are theories out there. They gain information just by being in a discussion."

As governor, she's never pushed her creationist beliefs.  And from the above, it sounds like she has zero interest in pushing them in public schools.  There's a big difference between promoting creationism and not banning it.

Brian, her telling the Anchorage news that she is for teaching both creationism and evolution, having creationism taught in public schools, seems to be widely available from all sorts of news sources, so I have no reason to doubt it.
