LOL...Genius.....Well you just showed exactly how much you know about the problem...Your Buddy Bill Clinton was the one that signed the legislation, along with the the Democrats and Republicans....Barney Frank(D)..yes, him, is in charge of the House Ways and Means Committee, which had OVERSITE on the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac programs...Chris Dodd (D) is the leading recepient of money from the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, The number 2 recepient is guess who????? Barrak Obama..in just two short years....When John McCain tried to get legislation started to reign in the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac problems (called forsight) in 2005, the legislation was killed 55 Democrats to 14 republicans.... I agree....we need to get the ones responsible that abused the system OUT of OFFICE and kicked off the committees..., but it's looking more and more like your buddies, the Democrats have the dirtiest pockets. and if it's not bad enough...the democrats had control during the last two years, remember their motto?......What the hell have they been doing, other than lining THEIR pockets??? You can try an spin it all you want but intelligent people know which party is always saying govt should not tell business what to do, they want a free pass to be as corrupt as they want. The only time they want govt involvement is when they want a bailout! It's not spin...that's the truth....Sorry if it hits home. To be fair though..The should remove, Charles Rangle, Barney Franks and Chris Dodd, and then go after Obama for soaking the Fannie Mae too.... I noticed you ognored THOSE facts...

The President can do next to nothing without the approval of Congress and for the majority of the time during the last 30 years the Democrats have been the majority in Congress. Both parties share the blame for this mess BUT the American people vote these guys into office so ultimately we're to blame. Nobody twisted Mr. Smith's arm to sign the mortgage agreement with payments he couldn't afford. His Congressman wasn't there to help him fill out his 15 credit card applications, the cards he has used to give him the illusion he can live the lifestyle of the rich and famous. I understand the reasons that these bailouts are deemed necessary. And there may be a need for more regulation BUT these new regulations put more power and control into the hands of the federal government to act as babysitters for the American people. The Dems HAVE NOT had "control" (fortunately) almost EVERYTHING they've tried to pass has FAILED. Remember that Bush is GOP -- He vetos a TON of crap- or the threat of him doing so stops things, even if it doesn't come to an actual veto. He has a LOT of the power in this, more by inaction (a lack of support is seen as a veto in the future) What's been happening is that in order to get anything past him, it has to be a 2/3 majority -- That means the GOP has to AGREE with the Dems to get it to happen- The Dems haven't been GETTING enough votes to get much of anything past Bush, and because of that knowledge, they've been totally divided on what will work to get past him, not to mention how to get the 16 or 17% of GOP behind them to guarantee a veto override. Again, Congress is the scapegoat but utlimately we the people share the blame with a screwed up sense of priorities and a greed for material wealth supply by "easy" credit.

It's ultimately the People's responsibility but I have no problem assigning whatever fault is due to sneaky, immoral, corrupt, greedy, emotionally challenged, vote-pandering political whores.

But we've been greedy for decades... IT's only recently that politicians and banks have gone +too far+ in allowing us access. Just like gas prices didn't go out of whack BEFORE a hurricane landed --- until Katrina. Now it's routine for everyone to jack their prices before they even know what's going to happen. Used to be, people would WAIT, and see how bad the damage really was --- THEN prices might rise.
