....the idea of Bush spending 700 BILLION to rescue the investment banks.. how much damage is yet ANOTHER thing done by Bush the head of the GOP, hated by the people-- how much damage is that going to do to McCain? I know some of you see a difference between the two -- But most Americans do --not-- see a difference between the GOP, Bush, and McCain. Is this going to result in a points loss for McCain, given the HARSHLY negative things that taxpayers are saying (by the millions) Every forum I go on, every newscast I see -- they are ALL talking about how much the average taxpayer DOES NOT want to spend THEIR money to bail out stupid borrowers and idiot lenders. Set aside discussion of whether we SHOULD bail out the banks or not-- think like Average Joe Citizen who isn't an economics major, and doesn't understand or care beyond the fact that he KNOWS his taxes are going up after what Bush is trying to do happens... How badly is ANOTHER hated decision by Bush going to affect the GOP's chances at getting voted in, especially with the swing voters and the independents? The problem wallstreetman is, he won't be giving back to people it was stolen from. He along with all our politicians today, will give to people who HAVEN'T worked. Their motto is give health care, give housing, give scholarships, give food, give give give so that we maintain total control of all of you. My god, you already know they welcome all the illegals into all of our freebees with open arms. They haven't put in. The more the government says their giving, the more they're controlling! There has to be a middle line to stay on. FAR to much of OUR money goes for crap none of us want it going for! We need to take some control of this machine on some level. The best way to do that is, vote GOOD people into office at our state levels.........people who won't put up with the corruption at the higher lever! I don't trust either party! But I'm sure getting tired of the Republicans getting blamed for this financial mess when the Democrats have been in control of it. To me, where bush has gone wrong is, the billions of dollars he keeps pouring overseas!! It's time to keep OUR money, home!

Better yet.....What would you do if you went to the bank to get your money, only to find out all your savings have been wiped out, because the bank had failed... I mean when EXACTLY did the laws get changed to where the president can just simply write a check to anyone, with out the apporoval of the other party? Really now...aren't you smarter than that?...nevermind...you already implied that answer. All of you Democrats here REALLY need to go take an economics class... The Democrats have sat on their asses HOPING for this mess, and fought the legislation to prevent it, causing the pain we ALL are going throuh now. And why do you ask? To be able to get back in power... That's your America loving Democrats. This thread has gotten derailed by discussion (again) of the pros and cons of the candidates. I wasn't saying that Bush could do that by himself-- I was asking what the EFFECT of his being seen to do it by "The People" -- Grant you, if the People thought for a second they'd realise exactly what you're talking about --- that Congress, both Parties, would have to ALSO vote to do this. (unless there's some executive privilege we see Bush decide to use, I dunno, I'm not a Constitutional lawyer, so I cannot say what's out there in law about that) I'm talking about what The People will _perceive_ and how that will change the views people have of the GOP party and the GOP candidates (which many link to Bush, rightly or wrongly) Again -- I'm NOT talking about what is TRUE --- I'm talking about what the Sheeple PERCEIVE to be true. that's what the thread is about --- PERCEPTION, not necessarily reality. because when it comes to 330 million people, according to the polls, 80% of them HATE this idea --- and 80% includes MOST of the people who are staunch GOP members! however you may want to perceive it, the disgust most people are feeling with the Government throwing $700 to COMPANIES, and not to the Citizens is real. It may be misplaced for people to feel that way --- but denying that they SHOULD'NT feel that way doesn't change what people are actually feeling!
