It's our fault, ultimately.
Certainly....if we were all noble, and decided that we were NOT going after our share of the Govt pie, this would be a simple fix........The country could be out of this mess in 5 years.....it'll take cuts in entitlements and spending all up and down the line.......I may be ready to cut them, you may be ready to cut them.....but you can bet your ass, the ones getting them aren't ready to cut them....

Who has the balls to do it?...

When I read your post it made me think of Bush's plan to introduce privatization into the Social Security system ... where new entries into it can opt to have their money kept in an account that becomes their personal asset.  I thought that was part of a better direction, needing more financial literacy education to back it up.  Although I think the investments should be strictly limited into diversified age-based portfolios.

My point is, I think we need to vote in people/Parties that are willing to revolutionize the basic systems and introduce more personal responsibility and independence from Government.  You know the story, I don't need to expand on that basic thought.  Once Government has power good luck getting it back.  That is why I think we, the People, need to take it back and I can't see how electing either of the two major Parties will or can do that BUT I CAN see how if we made a collectively statement by rejecting them we would be on a more hopeful track.  I hope you can see some validity in that argument.

I can see the validity...but the sad fact is this......if every damn one of us sits home and doesn't vote for either, which in reality isn't going to happen, ONE of the two will STILL be elected......We have moved so far to the left, it is stupid. McCain wasn't my first choice, not by far. But if I can get the closer to the "middle right" guy in office, the next time I hopefully can work the next one a little further "middle right"...

But I do agree with you on your assumption, but unfortunately, it's tougher than just not voting for either......Until we can get somone that doesn't come off as a nut case running on another ticket, we are in for an uphill battle.

I am not sure on your logic there.  If enough people vote Libertarian, for example, then neither major Party is elected and the Libertarian Party gets in.

On a bit of a sidenote, I just learned that they are asking Ron Paul to be their VP.

Hey, that could be interesting.  He has a LOT of followers.  I would like him as a Vice President, depending on who the President was though........  I like a lot of his ideas, but I wouldn't necessarily want him in full control.

If Palin is an acceptable VP, Ron Paul sure as hell is.

Well that's odd... considering your biggest complaint against her is religion. Also Paul is strongly pro-life, and has introduced bills to negate Roe v. Wade.

Palin has never done that....and she sure seems a lot more stable when she is interviewed.

He says a lot of things I like......but I can't vote for him yet....because a vote for him is a vote for Obama.......The Ross Perot effect.

Ron Paul is 10 times more qualified to be VP or President than Palin could ever dream of.

You are quite right - whichever brainchild penned this originally can't do simple math.  It wouldn't work because somebody didn't count the zeros correctly.  Each person would get around three thousand dollars, not three hundred thousand.  Sure, three grand would be nice. But it's not payin' off my house.

Getting three grand is better than the ten grand the bailout is going to cost each tax payer!

.We have moved so far to the left, it is stupid.

You are 100 % wrong in saying we have moved to the left, unless you think unions getting weaker and corporations getting stronger is moving to the left!

You name two things, and that tells you that we are not moving to the left?..Here is a big shocker......the unions have been getting weaker, even when the precious Bill Clinton was in office..the fact is, they suck, I know, I was a union member and a union steward....I know how the back stabbing unions work..

All successful corps get stronger........if they don't, they go under....Good God at the fucked up mentality on this forum.....You think corps should be weak?...lol...What kind of business are you in?

Sorry , to point to the only two things you know, and claim it isn't happening, is wrong......Look where we are now....Hell, every body here will tell you the Republicans have gone left of center and turned into tax and spend liberals.....or did you miss that that ???
