Palin has been criticizing Obama'a ties to a religious whacko recently.  I do agree he has ties that make me uncomfortable, and that combined with his islamic education and father, make me trust him as far as I can throw a terrorist.  However, I find it absrud, hypocritical, and over the top that Palin is doing it when she has troubling ties to religious whackos and still expresses some of those whacko beliefs!

Click HERE for one story of Palin on Obama.  It's just a fast example.  This is all over the news.  What nerve!  What denial!  I hope someone talks about her crazy religion soon.

Palin's comments have nothing to do with "religion" and everything to do with anti-American and racist remarks by Obama associates Wright, Phelger and Farrahkan.

She is attacking a philosophy or way of looking at the world.  Her philosophy, which is shaped by her ties to religious nuts, rates as "whacko" and here she is attacking his.

Her ties to whackos are as problematic as his.  Someone needs to call her out on this.

The "calling out" is going to be in the form of knocking out, as in, getting knocked out of the race in November!

If you want to define religion in those terms that's fine with me. But please provide a quote by McCain or Palin that comes anywhere near the level of the anti-American and racist remarks by Wright, Ayers, Farrahkan or Phleger.

Now Frank....stop and think a minute.  The two most volatile topics out there are religion and politics.  When you put the two together there is no talking reason or logic to anyone.  Each side hunkers down and refuses to budge even a milimeter.

I thought you, of all people would understand that.

Palin could call Obama a "dumbass n****r" in public and Republicans would still vote for McCain.

Mud slinging seems to be the order of the day from both sides of the political divide.

Questioning Obama's closes associations with Wright, Phleger, Farrahkan and Ayers is not mudslinging.

I wasn't really trying to define religion, I should have just used a more generic "philosophy" term from the start, my mistake.  My point was they both have troubling ties to whackos so I find it ridiculous to watch either of them attack the other for having nutjob ties when they both do.

I might not find a racist remark by one side or a religious one from the other, I am merging the two and saying it is ridiculous for Palin to criticize Obama for having problematic ties to nutjobs when she has them herself.

He doesnt.

How could you understand the fact that PMH would defend SADDAM if he were the GOP candidate?

::chuckle::  It's true, he would!

This is part of the problem.  I was guilty of it too.  People focused on cheerleading and defending some particular group of political whores with a track record of being corrupt.  We the People are not using an extremely powerful tool (our vote) and being united about truly fixing the Country because of this conditioning that trains us to pick and defend one of the two big Parties.  If we had out act together both Parties and Congress would be crapping in their pants worried about losing their jobs.  We have the power to undo a lot if we wanted.   However, we have become mostly complacent enablers or agenda-based robots, and those like Pmh wear that label proudly.  He does it in part because of religious reasons, but he doesn't see that as a deficit.  He thinks he is doing God's work.

He's OK with the Palins, Bushes, and Cheneys of the world. They're on the side of God, like him.

And McCain's association with the so-called "Keating Five" was investigated and he was cleared of any wrong doing.

On the other hand Obama stands by and defenses his associations with Ayers, Farrahkan, Phleger and (until very recent) Wright.
