My bad. I misunderstood what you were meaning. And I agree with you. It's like I said elsewhere; they conveniently ignore fact to focus on what the "other guy" is so bad about. But also as I said, both sides of the fence are guilty of this. Each person's pet politician practically walks on water and when the person is given facts about what a boob the politician actually is, they make excuses or ignore it.

No sirlamre....I will not quite giving reasons why Obama shouldn't be our president! Why on earth would I. I’m sure we all have gotten more than our share of them. You know - the emails that are debunked by snopes or a source document or even "are you kidding me with that crap?" – whether they are about Obama’s tax plan, his airplane logo, snippets taken out of context or just flat out lies.

But a funny thing has happened over the past couple of weeks – as Obama opened up a larger and larger lead – a lead so big (for now) in both the popular vote and the electoral vote that even the corporate media and the rightists can’t deny it.

More likely, the emails have stopped because there is nothing more they can do at this point except whine and squeal like stuck pigs. They can’t seriously defend Palin (as one tried to say that even Katie Couric was harsh on her to which I asked if she couldn’t even handle Couric then how could she handle al Qaeda). They can’t defend McCain. They can’t attack Obama for anything that either Palin or McCain is either just as guilty or more guilty of.

Sure, this was the case all along, but it is more prevalent now. Are they demoralized? Who knows – but I would think that their spirits aren’t that high right about now. Their hatred of Obama is generally on a different level than ours for Bush or Cheney – at least ours is based on their actions and words, where there is just an almost irrational hatred for Obama for non-tangible reasons that are usually accompanied by bogus "proof" of who knows what.

And the realization that this man is wildly popular, articulate (unlike their candidate) and may very well crush their party in a few weeks has got to, well, suck big time for them.

Who knows if this will continue or if it will get worse again over the next few weeks. Either there will be more emails that we can mock or there won’t. But there is a certain element of "tail between their legs" right now, and after all of the personal attacks they have made, I have to say that it is both funny and highly satisfying.

I get these e-mails occasionally, but mostly I read the bogus stuff online much more, even here!

What saddens me is that people, even intelligent ones, actually believe it. (Without researching it obviously)

Maybe because that's what they want to believe?

You know Saint, the really sad part is I don't like either one! Never have, well I have to admit I like Sarah's spunk. The really good possibilities for a president have been squeezed out by the media. The people who know what's really going on here, all know that. Having said how I truly feel............Obama has enough history to make me very suspicious and weary of him being the president of our country at this time. You can put whatever spin you want on those thoughts. Fact is, to pick him right now, is relying on your PC intellect, and not your thinking intellect. Plain and simple. I can't say it any clearer. AND, you still don't know who I'm voting for..............

The "fact is"...it can indeed be an intellectual decision to vote for Obama. Just because it's not the one you would choose, fox, doesn't mean it's not well-thought-out, reasoned, and conversant with the principles and ideas and ideals of the person making the decision.

Honestly, I did like Palin for a while. Not because she's spectacularly talented, but because she seemed to be similar to McCain in charting her own course through politics.

I've come to the conclusion, though, that she's not "ready on day one", as the tired cliche' now goes. That doesn't mean I can't vote for McCain. It just means I have enough confidence to think she's not going to need to be ready on day one.

Here's my problem with the Obama-Biden ticket: It's upside down. I could easily vote for Biden with Obama as the VP, because I wouldn't expect Biden to go anywhere, and I think that if something happened a year or so down the road, Obama would be ready by then. I don't believe he's ready now. Staying calm while debating McCain doesn't make him ready to be president. (That's one of the things that really annoyed me. All the pundits seemed to think Obama won the debate last night just because he stayed unruffled...)
