Depending upon exactly how he goes about it: "We'll put people back to work rebuilding our crumbling roads and bridges, modernizing schools that are failing our children, and building wind farms and solar panels, fuel-efficient cars and the alternative energy technology that can free us from our dependence on foreign oil and keep our economy competitive in the years head," he said. " If this is done the same way as the Civilian Conservation Corps was done, though perhaps with US-based and US-profitspending companies operating it, instead of the Army this could do a LOT to manage unemployment AND rebuild the infrastructure that made America great in the 50s and 60s. By the time the CCC came to an end in 1942, it also had changed the way Americans lived --- unemployed people from the cities had found lives in less populated areas, reducing the high unemployment rates in the big cities. Done right, today that could take lots of people OUT of low income areas in big cities, lower crime, and get those youg people "turned around" and on a path to becoming responsible citizens, not permanent welfare recipients. This just cannot be allowed to become another "profit center" for huge corporations to create another Detroit with highly paid unionised workers, unable to get anything done on the job because of contracts with workers that prohibit work at night, etc -- or charge the government exorbitant rates for that work. The government MUST control this and set fair hourly pay for workers -- and reasonable profits for companies involved in building a bridge or something like that. This idea of his would work well if it was controlled enough to ensure that it's not going to result in more projects like Bostons' Big Dig -- hundreds of millions over budget, largely because of quarrelling over pay rates, high prices being charged for materials, etc.

The thing I would be watching for would be what happened with our dams! We the tax payers built many of them, only to have private companies take over then charge the hell out of us using something we've built!!! Our tax dollars paid for them, but they make the profit?

Think about that next time you drive on one --- it's why they are not TOLL roads, it's why they were finished on time and on budget. (Maintaining them now is different) Hoover Dam was run that way --- the companies building were TOLD how much the government would pay, and that was that. No huge cost overruns, no overpaid workers, No Boston Big Dig projects, hundreds of millions of dollars over budget and decades behind schedule. Of course, that was the US in the 1930s. I wonder if it would be the same in our "make a big pile of bucks quickly without having to do much for it. Don't worry about whether the other guy can afford it, just charge it anyway" mentality we have now. I don't think people were $$$PROFIT$$$ oriented as much as we are now back in the good old days.

The problem here isn't unemployment, though. Unemployment is tiny now, compared to where it was in the Great Depression. In 1933, the unemployment rate was 25%. The real problem is money. The dollar's value is in the toilet. Massive government work projects, while they'll employ people, will also worsen the money problem, because they'll cause the government to go even further into debt. I'm not saying I have an answer. I'm just pointing out the potential problem with that answer.

Created Jobs via socialism, via created problems that need given solutions by the problem makers. The world isn't running out to anything, its being destroyed by a spiritual bent, that will be over come in time. The idea that man is destroying the world, means that someone is saying "Human beings aren't part of God's creation" Obama's is pushing United Nations Agenda 21 goals, via the "Said" troubles of the Earth, by the greatest polluters and abusers that the Earth has ever known. These creatures are "SATANIC" in nature...a PC term would be "Luciferic" but both confuse most. It is wrong to punish people who try to do good for the sake of those that don't try but only comply. So is UN Agenda 21, it punishes those that are trying for all...for those that are trying to hurt everyone else...but save themselves...actually the masters of UN Agenda 21 seek "godhood" for themselves over all humans on the earth. If anyone reading this doesn't know about UN agenda 21...please brush up on it...its the plan for global slavery for the world...written down and produced by the very powers our founders warned us about.
