Another family holiday favorite:

Stuffed Mushrooms

2 pounds mushrooms

1/2 pound ground beef

1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs

1/4 cup sherry wine (not cooking sherry)

2  1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil

1 small onion

4 thin slices ham or bacon

garlic powder to taste

salt and pepper to taste

Remove mushroom stems and chop into small pieces, then set aside.   Saute ground beef and onion in oil until meat is white.  Add the stems, ham or bacon and wine.  Cook about 10 minutes.

Add Bread crumbs, garlic, salt and pepper.  Mix well. If it is too moist, add more bread crumbs.

Stuff mixture into the mushroom caps & sprinkle with parmesian cheese.  Bake 10 minutes  in 400 degree oven.

Can be placed under broiler for a couple of minutes also.

Serve hot.

Well, I was looking for this recipe, as my brother wants me to email it to him, he lost his copy.  Just figured I'd bump it while I was here.
