It might be "good" in the sense that some built up credit/bank anxiety issues will be cleaned out and more opportunities will arise for people seeking to own homes that were shut out from the previous explosion in prices. In other words, it becoming more of a buyers market may stimulate. I know two couples in my area that are finally able to buy a home due to the slump.

It will make it easier for people with solid credit to buy most anything. However, due to the fact that Americans are 97% idiotic deadbeat, overextended, keep up with the Joneses, non saving, irresponsible, freeloaders, that will mean that about 27 people will be able to buy the home of their dreams while the rest lose theirs.
