I have used FOLIOfn and Sharebuilder in the past.  They both have different features but are built around making investing a low cost thing and are geared for those, in part, that don't invest a lot each month but want to invest.

24hournut, I just signed up for http://www.sharebuilder.com, as it turns out, you were right, http://www.ingdirect.com just bought them out. I thought that was cool.

What I like most about this place (And there are plenty of others like it) is that first of all, I can sign up with NO monthly fee, with only a four dollar charge for each transaction, and second, I can invest in partial stocks so if I have only 50 dollars in the account and want to purchase a 73 dollar stock, I don't need to have 73 dollars, I can purchase a partial share with no penalties.

Thanks for bringing up the topic, I am curious as to what others think of these sites.
