Recently the President has put forth what he calls a stimulus package that hopefully passes through congress, and from what I have seen it will. Under the guise of a stimulus package it will give each individual "that worked" in 2007 a tax rebate.
My question is. Will this rebate get the economy jump started or will Americans be smart and pay down debt?
My own thoughts are that in the past the 300.00 rebate helped more than hurt and that was in a better economy thus the higher payout now. Giving back our own money is always a plus in my eyes and I think it may just help people get through the winter if they are smart. 130 billion is not alot when you consider the total sum of the American money machine.
I think it is like 800.00 per family.
