OK, here are some relevant stats:
MBA with emphasis in Management from San Diego State University. 3.57 GPA, Project Manager for final project, which was essentially a full-scale consulting project for a non-profit organization.
Joint BS in Mathematics and Economics with minor in Sociology from UC San Diego. 3.714 GPA, graduated cum laude, held Regents' Scholar status throughout my studies.
Job Experience: not much, save for a couple of months at Tar-zhay and a couple of years of semi-employment selling stuff on Ebay (perfect feedback )
I learn fast and can apply what I have learned to a wide variety of tasks.
I have interest in retail and finance, and think I would do well in operations/logistics roles. Sales positions are generally a turn-off (I went through a presentation for a "financial advisor" position, and one of the first things mentioned was selling a whole life policy as an investment vehicle... BARF). I have applied for several retail management training programs, and got invited to a second-round interview for ONE, and this is for positions that only require an undergrad education and don't require a specific history of employment! I need to get working, and soon; not only do I have stuff to pay off (student loans, etc.) but I would like to get in a position where I can help my mother buy a house and prepare for retirement.
Any well-meaning, non-condescending advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi bud, check the Help Wanted section in the Classifieds here. I don't know what's there but maybe it's worth checking.

I'll have to check that out... the second-round interview I mentioned (a management development program at Longs Drugs) is this Saturday, but I need to keep spinning the wheels and hope some more paying combinations come up ;)
