Here's an odd one.  I have lived in my place for about 3 years.  It is a house, but it's an upper flat of the house with another tenant on the ground floor.  I sign a year lease, and in the lease my parking is covered. There is a cement slab to the left of my front door where I always parked both cars.  The property there was a big empty lot, until about a year ago.  The landlords sold the land and whomever bought it, built a house, eliminating my driveway.  Since the dirveway, which is part of the lease, is now gone, what would be an expected action from the landlords or from me?

I would think write or call the landlord requesting a reduction in rent or a replacement of that agreed upon benefit.

Frank's idea does sound good, and I will talk to them.  The problem is, I like my landlords.  I can't get snotty with them.  They are very on-the-ball with repairs and such and when I was hospitalized, they gave us extra time with the rent.  I don't, however, want to pay for something that does not belong to me anymore.

They gravelled the strip between the street and the sidewalk, and it fits the car, but the bikes can't be parked there.  Most people in this neighborhood park in that area in front of theor houses, if they don't have a garage, but I don't like having my car that close to the road, especially 1/2 a block from the bar.
