Too bad they aren't trained to look in the direction they're going.

That's the province of the pilot and air controller IMHO

You've got to be kidding me!  I know you don't make the rules and laws........but that's the most insane thing I've heard in a long time (except for what the president does).  Now IF, those choppers were POLICE choppers then I could SORT OF see the tie in.  But those news reporters are up there because they are going after a story short and sweet!!  I suppose if a woman was giving birth in her car on the freeway, and the news chopper crashed she would be help accountable?  I don't think so!!  And for the same reason she wouldn't, would be the same reason this jerk shouldn't!!!!  I hope the Whole town fights on this one!

It isn't newbie.  But what the news DECIDES to report doesn't have anything to do with the person involved in the event!

Didn't mean I thought I was right, or even on topic.

But i have always thought, that a person commiting a crime cause lateral damage, is responsible for it.

I can't say it exactly right but I hope you understand

IT'S STILL INSANE.  What if one of the pilot's was an alcoholic, and his chopper went down because he was hung over?  What they did and the choices they made, has nothing to do with some guy running around on the ground.  The creep on the ground needs to be accountable for what HE, HIMSELF has done.  The guys in the helicopters need to be held accountable for what THEY DID!  Period.  This is such a sue happy country.  People should learn to quite looking for someone else to blame..............

in civil law ( i didn't say i LIKED civil law) a percentage of blame will be assigned. unlike criminal law where it's guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. if the defendant is 51% to blame, damages will be awarded. Fox, i know you are familiar with this concept. as far as him being charged criminally with manslaughter, it's for the jury to decide. the charge is rightful under current law.

Gotta go with Fox on this one.  This is like that reporter who went over to Iraq a while back, something "unpleasant" happened to him and now he wants to sue everyone and their brother, and at the same time, write a book about the incident.  "I want to get rich from my little owie whatever the cost."  You're a reporter, things like this are going to happen to you.  You are where you are in life because of the choices that you make.  You choose to be a reporter, you're going to see some ugly stuff and in some cases, you're going to be in dnager.  Especially when the media's ambition is to report stuff that is violent, ugly, bloody and sick.  If it bleeds it reads.  The average person knows this; so should the people who get into the business.  So it was 2 rival channels up there?  This will probably smack of some kind of gang war by the time the rest of the retarded media gets hold of it.

Oh and I'm sure whoever can, will push it to try and get something for nothing too.  Like I said, I realize you don't make the law's.  Under these circumstances, I think this is insane!   My son was killed at work because of negligence on someone else's part, and we can't even sue the employer who WAS involved!  I would hope anyone trying to pin those plane crashes on some nut on the ground get's the case thrown out.

(CNN) -- The man allegedly at the center of a police chase that led to a deadly collision of two news helicopters in the air over Phoenix, Arizona, was arraigned Saturday.

Police say suspect Christopher Jones will likely be charged with the deaths of the four killed in the crash.

Christopher Jones faces four counts of aggravated assault, two counts of theft of means of transportation and one count of resisting arrest. The judge set his bail at $1 million after a prosecutor said Jones is a risk to flee.

"He put the entire community in danger ... everyone on the street was a possible victim," the prosecutor said.

During the hearing, Jones said he blacked out and when he came to, police used tear gas and a taser on him. "I don't know how all this happened. I really don't," Jones said.

Phoenix Police Chief Jack Harris has said the suspect will likely also face criminal charges for the deaths of the four people on board the two helicopters.

Journalists are trained to report news, neutrally and unemotionally.  That news can be happy or sad.  They have to report the facts, as they happen.  In some instances their human nature will be crying out to help the victims .....they can't, that is not part of the job.

Neutrally and unemotionally ?

yes I agree they are emotionless neutral vultures preying on human misery.

Was there any actual need for them to film the burning wreckages and still twitching corpses of their fellow vultures ?

I don't think actual vultures would steep that low.

I agree with putting people in danger ON THE GROUND!  What the Judge said was right.  This statement tho, they loose me on...................Phoenix Police Chief Jack Harris has said the suspect will likely also face criminal charges for the deaths of the four people on board the two helicopters.

I'm sure he WILL be...........that doesn't make it right.  It's still insane.  If those choppers were POLICE choppers, then I would agree totally!  They weren't, they were up there because they WANTED to be, THEY screwed up big time, and it's their fault!

Which one? Both drivers in the hypothetical were rubbernecking.
