Some people seem to have all the luck.................or is that really what they have?  Others, seem to have everything bad happen to them.  Does that mean they have bad luck, or no luck at all?  What is this thing called LUCK?

No, I don't believe in "luck". That would be saying something like "all life forms have evolved by time, chance and mutations to what we see today". :lmao:

If you're defining "luck" as some free-floating thing that someone either has or doesn't have, then no, I don't.  Luck is often a matter of perspective.  What one person might consider a "lucky" break, someone else might not.  Even some people who win the lottery later regret having won.

I do, however, believe in the randomness of life, so in a sense, when something good happens (randomly), a person is "lucky", and when something bad happens, they're "unlucky".  It's just that "good" and "bad" are sometimes subjective.

In a very real sense this is true.  The laws of probability are mathematical and cannot be changed, but you can increase your probabilites by taking certain actions.

For example, lets say two men are looking for a job.  One puts out fifteen resumes to various companies, the other puts out fifty resumes.  Of course, he gets a job first since he had greater odds of finding a company that was hiring.

His own work ethic increased the odds of his success.  He made his own luck.

I think there is a certain "luck" that seems to ride with some people.  I could by lottery tickets every week........and never win a thing.  Other's could by a few lottery tickets, and win almost every time!  There's no skill to winning.........so is it luck?  Some families have horrible things happen to them all the time.  Others, have all kinds of good things happen in their lives.  Health, happiness, prosperity etc.  The families with the bad things are well educated, work hard, have lots of ambition and concentrate on trying to make the best of life.  Some of the families with the good things, can be lazy, not have very good morals and even be selfish.  I think "LUCK" is a gene some people are just plain born with!  :lmao:

::wiseman::There are eyewitnesses for Jesus as well as He was a historical figure. Would you happen to have any names Goetzdude that you could possibly share who were eyewitnesses to the billions of years of claimed Darwinian Evolution?

No more or less logical than making fun of someones beliefs just because you don't happen to agree with them.

Everything is determined by luck.

Of course it's remarkable that usually planning, knowledge, and execution will lead to a more sure fate than luck alone.

Someone who has never played golf but has the luckiest day of his life won't beat Tiger Woods even on an off day.

But Tiger Woods couldn't be where he is without luck.

If you want to believe that man rode dinosaurs like Fred Flintstone then go ahead...but if you do, then be prepared to be ridiculed because you'd deserve it.  ::chuckle::
