#3  Please stop hitting me.  (Which means I didn't knock 'em out cold)   :lmao:

Actually, it's just the first one I truly despise.  I don't hear the other 2.

1)  Decimated

The reason I hate this one is because no one ever bothers to use it correctly!  "Decimate" is not synonymous with "destroy".  Decimate means to kill 1 in 10.  If an area was destroyed, but less than 1/10 people died, the area was not "decimated".   (It's particularly ironic when people trying to make themselves look smart end up looking even less intelligent.)

The only other word is a word I only will use among men.  And since there are women on the forum, I'm not gonna say.

One more thing I hate to hear:

"D'y'need any help?"   It's usually not so bad, except when guys ask me in a public bathroom.  ("Uh, do I look like a senator from Ohio to you, buddy?!")

How about "irregardless" instead of "regardless"?

I also notice people use "penultimate" instead of "ultimate."

"Irregardless" gets me, too.  "Penultimate", not so much, but I know what you mean.

The other one that I find irritating is "could care less" instead of "couldn't care less".

There's a lot more that irritate me when people write, but I'll stop there. :)

In addition to my other comment on "decimate", I'd also like to add that technically, if more than 1/10 was killed, that's also not technically decimation.   ::nono::

1.  I can't log in

2. Why can't I see that little blue triangle when I click the red link next to the disappearing topic that I normally enter but isn't letting me reply when I hit the graphic thing by religion forum.  It usually only works for me in Open Talk or on an Intro page but there aren't those box things there so I just use global.  Why?????

3. I wish these breasts were smaller

The worst thing I heard after my wife had her third miscarriage was, "You can try again."

The worst thing she heard from her family was, "You had a miscarriage because you went on vacation and weren't eating right." Fortunately for my in-laws, they didn't tell her that when I was around. If ever there was a time I'd have completely lost it, that would have been it.

Their are many words that are more decimating then the ones you have mentioned.  The penultimate one is "to."   Like its to expensive.

I can except some of the words you guys have mentioned irregardless of you're intent.
