As for my avatar...it just fits me...

i love the colors...and i find life much simpler and calmer if I'm flexible and just "go with the flow"...it works for me. :)

initially i had part of a Baha'i quote underneath it which included the word 'Dawntide'...and i found the avatar while looking for something to fit that quote...but i changed it cause the quote was too long...but kept the picture for the reasons above. :cool:

i like to change avatars sometimes, especially for holidays. and i try to find animated ones. i used to always use my cruiser, but some people were put off by it i think. once i used that pic of me aiming my gun and it caused a big hoo-haa around here. ::chuckle:: my favorite, in response, was the donut. :D

anyway, i keep coming back to the current one because i have green eyes.

I like to change my avatars every once in awhile... this current one is a combination of good ol' Red White & Blue plus support for our country's troops while still hoping they'll be here soon (and maybe free to come out... both in terms of orientations, and, why not, out of their clothes too ::sgrin:: ).  What's under my avatar is a response to those who seem to think that I'm acting un-American in one way or another.  Everything else is just me right now as I see it :)

Mine is my 1952 Chevrolet Fleetline 2 Door Deluxe.



This was the last year GM made a Fleetline body style...better know as a "Torpedo". They were extremely popular in the late 40's but faded out in the early 50's. Mine has a 216 straight six with a standard 3 speed transmission.

I bought it in 1974 for $400 and drove for several years as my only car. It got parked in the back yard where it stayed for close to 20 years rotting and rusting away. When we bought a new house, I decided I had to do something so I slowly been working on getting back into shape. The rebuilding process has been in fits and jerks until the kids get out of school and I can devote more time and money to it.

I don't know if I could ever sell it but my oldest son has always liked it so he gets first dibs.

This was back when they made real cars, and gas was about 18 cents a gallon.

It's hard to tell, but the tail end of the car next to yours looks like maybe a 1964 Ford Fairlane, or maybe a 63 or 64 Nova.
