It's amazing what some people will do for others isn't it, he risked his life to save another, and without a second thought

A good example to all, and proof that not all young people are juvenile delinquents.

Well done on posting something positive Robo, you should do it more often.

he's a good kid and did a great thing...

not to discount his great actions,,, I don't see the "risked his life" (were their sharks circling and blood in the water?)

or the "act of bravery" (he saw a body floating face down and decided to jump in)

he did what needed done,,, he did the right thing....

I'd like to think most folks would have done the same,,,
lifeguards and others do this every day...

what a world,,, where doing the right thing,,, acting upon what the situation dictates and getting involved is now called a heroic act of bravery...

a good kid for sure,,, his parents should be glowing with pride...

yeah I'm a prick...

"he did what needed done" right you are....but sometimes some people don't like the right thing to be done...because its upsetting.

In the world coming, his actions will be seen as weakness and uselessness...thankfully today we haven't got their...but its bitting at our heals right now.

Tomorrow world wants old ladies and men today....happy there is something different happening today. :)

Nope not many common people would do that, they would use their cell phones, but there are people who take action in a situation where thinking of what to do can cost others their life

Note i said "common" many of us aren't trained in some situations we face just like this one he faced i highly doubt he was trained to save people

Understanding the situation is the best idea and this kid seems to be a quick thinker and saved a life, he could of let her die but he didn't

I don't think you're a prick, but I think you're overlooking the obvious:

1)  Jumping from a bridge is a common way people use to kill themselves.

2)  The woman was committing suicide (or at least trying to).

To me, that means what this boy did was dangerous, by definition.  Doing the exact same thing as someone trying to kill themselves, and not wanting to die in the process, means you're either very brave or a complete idiot.  And since the boy was doing it to save a life, I think we can rule out the idiot scenario.

Edited to Add:  And I don't swim at all, so I know I wouldn't've done what he did! ::blush::

He Acted on Common sense, something that isn't "common" today.
