Yesterday, I had to hire a Landscaping company (to the tune of $325) to "trim" & shape all the bushes around our house! What I once did with ease, I now had to pass off to the younger guys to do. ::chuckle:: This is the same company that I just hired two weeks ago to cut our lawn. (to the tune of $50/cut each week) The lawn has many steep hills & slopes that now hurts my ankles when I used to do it. I'm now paying someone else to hurt their ankles! Fortunately for me, I no longer have to do these chores! (I'm tired of getting old, I want to get young! :bigwink:)

(Side note to you youngsters out there: Save all you can afford to save today! Cause when you retire, you may wind up having to pay others to do what you once did yourself when you were young!::nsmile::)

Growing old is inevitable, growing up is voluntary.

I know what you mean, I have someone mowing my lawn too..but I won't complain about the $13 a pop he charges.  Course, mine is a bit smaller and flatter than yours.

My husband and I mow our own lawn. The cheapest price around here to have someone mow it (we have just a small end unit townhouse) is $25.00. I'd rather keep the money in our own pocket. Good exercise for us too, even though we're already pretty old.

Good luck on that! :D

There are are no kids in our neighborhood that would even consider mowing lawns, much less actually mow them! ::chuckle:: They don't even come around in the winter when it snows, looking to shovel the driveways to earn some :cash:

"Flat" is the key word! If my 3/4 acre property was all flat, I could/would be able to do it myself, with my "self-propelled" 23 wide mower. It's the steep hills & slopes that make it a no-no for me now! ::chuckle::

Well if you still saving for the lawn,::chuckle:: instead of the lawn, why not consider filling the property with maintenance free "white granite stones" ! You'll be happy you did!

Fortunately I can still mow my lawn, and love doing it.  My problem is getting the mower up from the front lawn along the side steps and gravel walk, to the higher back yard.  I have to get my youngest son to help me with that.  As far as winter, he does the snowblower in the drive way.  I'll shovel the walks and steps, but that double driveway is his.  If I could hire someone to do what I use to do all the time, it would be house work!!  Plain and simple!  Someone come in here and keep the cobwebs out, the floors vacuumed and mopped!   Walls wiped down, bathrooms clean, laundry folded, carpets fresh and clean!  NOW we're talking hiring.................    ::sgrin::

Yes, I got that & chuckled. But I kinda really wish I had those stones all over my property instead of grass. Just wishful thinking out loud!::chuckle::
