It's a wonder we're all still around. After all, there are women in positions of power in all kinds of positions that would be able to effect such an outcome. There are women in control of huge corporations that don't go belly-up once a month. There are women who have access to explosives, weapons, secrets, and they don't go on hormonal rampages every month. There are even - GASP - female Secret Service agents, and they don't take out their weapons and blow away their charges on a monthly basis. Just for a couple of examples.

Really...because men never go nuts and oh, say, blow up a Federal building and kill 168 people. Men never go on shooting rampages in malls, in college campuses, in high school cafeterias. Yeah, really, you guys never should have let us have the vote, go to work, drive cars. Sure. Might as well put us all in burkhas and chain us to the stove, right?

Honestly, the amount of sexist BULLSHIT on this thread astonishes me, and some of the people perpetuating it really ought to know better. Get your heads out of your asses, people, and into the twenty-first century.
Don't be shy, dont hold back, let it all hang out! :D

ESPECIALLY when the bullshit comes from another woman. Even my sister. We women should be working hard to eliminate those misconceptions, and all this is doing is perpetuating them.

No, running a major corporation or being in the Secret Service is not the same as being POTUS...for one thing, there's a lot MORE women CEOs and Service agents. Therefore a lot more opportunity for chaos....except it DOESN'T HAPPEN. You don't see women in other positions of power having monthly meltdowns...so why is it assumed that it'll happen if she's POTUS? This kind of sexist crap only makes it more difficult for women to get anywhere.

Occasionally we agree.

I don't buy all this women "act only out of emotion" crap.

Women can be just as cold and calculating as men. Sometimes even more so, female murderers and serial killers are often the most cold and emotionaless of killers.

I see no reason why women shouldn't be in the military or in the whitehouse.

Men have a monthly hormone cycle just like women that effects their emotional responses and moods, it just isn't discussed or used as an excuse for strange or out of character behaviour.

Whatever shit I catch for saying this; so be it.  That's my opinion and I'm stickin' to it.

Right or wrong, that was very honest of you.  Also, Palin has demonstrated that trait, I believe.  Didn't she engage in spiteful no-nos by trying to punish the police chief who didn't fire her brother in law after his divorce or something?

I just wanted to add that I am not saying men don't engage in such behavior, but that Palin apparently does.

Just for the record, I wasn't even "considering McCain", until he picked "Palin"! Now, I'm leaning towards his camp! McCain said he favors change on the hill. And if he's elected, and he doesn't show enough change, or any change at all for that matter, I suspect Palin will have a heavy infulence on forcing him to abide by his promises!

These are my thoughts exactly!  Even if I don't vote for McCain, I'm pretty sure he'll be the one.  I'm counting on Palin to make the difference in the illegals area!  Right up until the election, I'm going to watch and see if anyone else looks to have a chance though.........

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up worn out screaming what a ride..

This whole discussion, could be mute point! If McCain is elected, there's a good posibility that he may go away for one reason or another. And then we'll see Sarah in all her glory!

Oh, please.  He's the second coming of GWB (just look at his voting record); she's more lightweight than dandelion fluff.  He *says* he's all about change.  The only thing that'll change, IMO, is that tune once he got into office, if he does.  I'm doing what I can to prevent that. certainly.

Guess the handwriting is on the wall for who you're voting for! ::chuckle::

Looks like I'll be doing what I can to prevent otherwise!

I'm going to AVOID my usual  ::stir::  in this thread.

Mainly because the people who I note are ::batguy:: probably are of the type who have ::gunner::

So I don't want this

or this

to happen to me

So I'll just be sitting back and ::popcorn::

Much safer to just ::grhug::
