I am liberal & to me that defines being open minded and tolerant of others, So does that mean that, in turn, being conservative makes me closed-minded and intolerant?
And why do people think that a public servant's life is a closed book; that the public - the people he is to serve - don't have a right to know what he does in regards to things like this? If you are running for office and hoping to have a lot of secrets or a private life, you're getting into the wrong business.

Of course I don't think that being conservative means you are closeminded & intolerant...That would be stamping a label on you and I treat people with more respect than that...There are reasons you feel the way you do and you are entitled to them...Now see, wasn't that a nice liberal response. About Joe Biden's charity giving or not giving, I stand by what I said, its not our business.

About Joe Biden's charity giving or not giving, I stand by what I said, its not our business. Listen...for the last time...it is our business because they choose to make it our business by releasing their tax info, for public scrutiny..as required.....all of the candidates have done it... The point I am trying to make is apparently going right over your head...most of the people here understand the hypocrisy in his actions..you evidently don't get it, or don't care about his actions, only his pretty words. I have one reason only for thinking that ones' charity giving should be kept private and thats because I want their money for causes that I believe in...I know the mind set of many of these people and if they have to tell the world how much they are giving & who they are giving it to they will refuse to give at all...I have to reassure these people all the time that they will have their anonynimity because that is always the one thing that stands between a donation or not...I don't care who the person is, Joe Biden or Joe Blow.

Once again...we don't care WHO he gave to.....it's the mere pittance he gave that is the issue....Now I understand the your mindset.....Just let it go...Save yourself any more embarrassment. Yes, revamp the tax code, I am for a flat tax for example. I am for less Government dependence on things like retirement. I think financial literacy and long-term private planning should replace the overly used default Government handouts. I'm with you.
