Can you define love?   I realize you can use the word "love" in many ways, but I'm talking love of a partner.  Someone described it with the simple statement of, Love is forever, with no strings attached.  What's love to you?  Do you have some strings attached...........

If you aren't willing to throw yourself in front of truck to protect your partner without a moments hesitation you aren't love, if you haven't seriously considered killing your partner at least once you aren't in love.

To me...it's the willingness to do what it takes to protect, provide and give security to the one that I spend my live with. It's the willingness to over look the little flaws that pop up from day to day. The ability to tell them they are pretty or nice when it's early in the morning and it just may not be true...and the ability to tell them "I Love you" and mean it with no strings attached.

Love is a many splendid thing! :D True love becomes "stronger" over the years, as displayed by each other, for each other! Small to large kindnesses showered upon a loved one over time, is stored in that loved one's heart over & over again. Till one day, that loved one looks into their heart. And finds it filled with all the wonderful things their loved one did for them day after day, year after year, and it gives them warm & fuzzy feeling all over!!! :smitten:

I love you newbie.  But it's a mutant kind of love.   It has A LOT of strings attached, including, but not limited to, me getting all of your coins out of the deal.

That is the damn truth right there.  My Granny and Gramps are a great example of that.  Over 65 years of marriage till Granny died a little over 5 years ago.

I don't think it is possible for anyone to define love for everyone.  To each person it is different.  To me, it is honesty, loyalty, trust and the willingness to do whatever it takes to make your partner happy, including leaving them if they are not happy with you.  You want more for your partner than you want for yourself.  You make exceptions for you partner that you wouldn't make for other people.  You give and give and give, and if you're lucky, like I am, you get it back  x10.

You said the three magic words UTR. Loyalty, honesty, and trust, and, I'll throw one more in there, respect for each other.

Young people today just up and leave and don't even try to stay together anymore. Although, I believe that is starting to turn around, at least according to statistics, for what ever stats are worth. I have heard recently that the divorce rate is as low as it was in 1971, give or take a year. That is a lot lower than the 80's and 90's.
