I have this already implemented on my official pet site. On every topic, every post there is a button (drop down below the post) that says "rate this thread".

Not sure about any rewards or stuff like you have Frank. I just opened this site and have very few members yet.

The problem was fixed.  It was making the people with the most votes win instead of the highest rating.

What it does when trying to decide a winner between two posts that have the same rating is still being worked on.  Between two posts with the same net Rating, it prefers the one that has more votes.  We are working on what happens if they have the same votes.

Initial post updated with a technical description of how the MyPOTD meter in your profile, and in your posts, works:

Tech speak: it sorts all the members by the # of POTD they got and each time a member has more POTD than the last member, the counter increases.  To make the bar, it calculates the value of the counter when it was looking at that member / the final value of the counter.

Eventually, after beta testing, a more polished presentation or information page will be created and linked to with a button in the POTD area.

The ability to cast a negative vote has been removed from the system.

The system is still volatile and subject to change.  I need to wait until the next new day starts to analyze if this latest change is bug free.

I realize that there are higher POTD meters for all today. People who have not earned POTDs and who are even gone from the site have some boxes lit in their MyPOTD meters. This is being look at since something was thrown off as other changes were taking place.
