WELCOME TO  - can't post Our Community is also inherently open and unpredictable because of how we work to expand each forum - that is part of the reason we call them "Living Forums." Every forum is seen as the expandable center of that theme's universe. It's "Living" because each Forum will be branching out like a spider web. Like a growing spider web, each Forum can expand to connect to other expressions of its theme. Members can explore their favorite themes with the Forum as its center. You will often see graphic links under a forum's name and above its topics, as well as special services or features contained within a forum, to facilitate this. In addition, sub-forums enable another level of expansion and customizing. It's "Living" because the Members can own their own Forums, request new ones, and effect the placement and resource allocation of existing forums*, directly shaping our future. The site is all about individually owned forums. Members can request forums, or own a forum, working with management to get their needs addressed. Click HERE to read the Introduction to Forum Ownership. Register to become a Member and post. It's free to Register. Click on "register" at the top of the site to get started. Just create a username and password, submit your email information, and enter other details if you wish. Be sure to do what the big bold red words tell you to do - which is to post a greeting in the Say Hello forum in order to be switched over to Full Access.
KEY OVERVIEW Learn about our "free-market" forum system in the Forum Center. In there you will see details on how to: Support us and individual forums with sponsorships (donate or advertise). Vote for individual forums. OWN A FORUM - you may be able to create and manage your own Forum. Recruit, service, inform, share, enjoy, or build with your own Forum. Have your own interesting or helpful spot. Take care of friends, family, co-workers, or employees. You don't have to "be around a lot" - you just have to be involved in its formation and growth over time. You might want to consider the unique advantages of having your own maintenance-free Forum in a high-quality, diverse, expanding, feature-rich environment. Also, please be sure to read the Introductory post stuck to the top when you enter a Member-Owned forum and abide by its rules, if any, before posting!   FORUM CONTROL- you can collapse or show whatever forums you like to filter their topics and posts from your general viewing experience! Click HERE for details. FORUM JUMPER - with favorite function  - click the Jump button in the main menu to quickly see and go to the forums and main site areas. Click the  next to a forum you want to keep in your favorites! You can also click these shortcuts for main forum categories:FAVORITE TOPICS  - at the bottom of every topic is a button that lets you add it to your Favorite Tab listings! GALLERY  - you, your friends, and your family can upload images or videos into public categories, or into your Member album for portfolios, archives, family photos, and more. You can create private password-enabled albums, too! Click the big round "eye" button at the top of the site. This is free image hosting, in effect. Read the Introduction to the Gallery HERE. CLASSIFIED ADS  - you, your friends, and your family can place free classified ads - let us know if you think an additional category or sub-category is needed; click the newspaper with dollar sign button at the top of the site. Read the Introduction to the Classified Ads HERE. DIFFERENT FORUM MODES - view the forums in Day, Global, or Night modes! Go to My Account > Preferences > Board Theme and then select the theme you wish to experience the site in from the drop-down menu, and hit SAVE. You can change between them or back at any time.  THE WEB DEPOT FORUM Learn and share about the web. You can showcase your site and network with other forum owners.
        - under forum names and within forums, the graphics link to something useful or convenient, helping to create our "Living Forums" by expanding upon that forum's theme. CUSTOM TITLE - create your own custom title for under your Avatar in posts. After joining, go to My Account > Profile > fill out the Custom Title field, then Save. LOAD AN AVATAR! - an avatar is the image you see in a person's post on the left under their name. It's their personal identifying image that shows in all of their posts. To load an avatar for yourself, just go to MY ACCOUNT > AVATAR to select from the gallery or Browse and load an image of your own from your computer! Images can be up to 200 X 200 and 100k! The software automatically resizes larger images down for you. If it is animated, please resize it before loading or else it will not animate if you let our software resize the animated gif for you! Don't forget to refresh your browser (or hit your F5 key) to see your newly loaded avatar.
If you have a business, service, or cause to promote, consider the following options: Sub-Title You can get a custom Sub-Title under your avatar that can be used to display things such as a website. Click HERE. Signature You can have signatures on all your posts depending upon your level of financial support for the site. Click HERE for more info. Avatar The file size is very generous so feel free to use a lot of animation if you wish! Click HERE. The Website Depot forum You can show off, list, or describe your website in this forum! Click HERE. The Money Busines forum You can discuss the jobs, goods, and services you may have to buy, sell, or trade in the Money Business forum - click HERE for the rules. MyIntro, MyResume, and MyFile These are profile fields that you can fill out to have text and links available under your avatar in all of your posts. Go to MY ACCOUNT > PROFILE. Free Classified Ads People can give their services, needs, and products exposure in our Classified Ad area. Put Your Ad in the Gallery You can load ONE image or video advertisement into the "My Advertisement" category in the Gallery Sponsorship We have many sponsorship opportunities available in many forms - from sponsoring a forum to a Contest. MY ACCOUNT - many questions can be answered by the topics already in the Headquarters forum. - there is a Search function you can use. - "Recent Posts" button at the top of the site (and the Recent tab at the top of the forums) effectively shows all the forums as one! - the "KEY INFO" tab at the top of the forums shows you the topics the Administrator has selected for you to see - the "Popular" tab displays all the topics that have a lot of views and replies
THE RULES These rules are just a summary but should suffice. In order to better assure a quality culture at 24HourForums, we reserve the right to delete posts or suspend and ban Members at any time, with or without warning, for breaking the rules of common sense, not limited to, but including, the ones below. You aren't allowed to engage in things that conflict with the law, our privacy standards, or the type of culture we focus on having. YOU MUST READ AND ABIDE BY THE RULES OF EACH FORUM BEFORE POSTING IN IT - SO THAT MEANS READ THE TOPIC STUCK TO ITS TOP IF THERE IS ONE! Pornography Pornography is not allowed either in picture or written form. Vulgarity Real vulgar language is a good way to get into trouble. Multiple Accounts/Alternate IDs Creating multiple accounts to abuse a system is a no-no. Creating them for no real reason other than to fool around is frowned upon. No Problematic Usernames Usernames with special characters or that are blatantly commercial are allowed. A case-by-case decision might be made, but this is the general rule. Spamming No spamming allowed. Using the forums or private message system to inappropriately promote or advertise is a no-no. This includes "pseudo-spamming" such as obnoxious and annoying over-posting/bombardment, frequent super-long posts, and annoying, robotic cut & pastes, or very fanatic-like posting in general. No Soliciting This does not apply to official arrangements or outlets, such as the Classifieds, special services through individual forums, or pre-approved arrangements. This means, in general, no "asking for money" type posts. Sounds Annoying people with sounds or music in posts is a no-no. Impersonation Impersonating other users by creating and/or using an account with a name clearly intended to impersonate, mock, or antagonize another user, or otherwise falsely claiming to be another member, is a no-no. Trolling Trolling is considered the starting of a thread or posting in an established thread for the express purpose of ticking people off. This is a no-no. Fighting & Harassment Excessive fighting or harassment is a no-no. Private Messages Private messages between two people must be kept private unless both parties agree otherwise. The other rules generally apply to Private Messages as well. External Links Posting external links that contain material that breaks the law is a no-no. TITLES For the first 1,000 active Members, after you join and are escorted into full Membership, you are assigned a Title that roughly reflects how early you joined the Community (i.e. has a number attached to it). Titles after that will be without numbers and focus on other attributes instead. These Titles will play a role in things such as future Events or special situations, where different groups have different capacities, types of input, different benefits, or get assigned different tasks. Generally speaking, you will not benefit significantly less overall being in one group or another, but you may experience different things and at different times to reflect the differences. There may be some form of reverence expressed for those who have remained active for a longer amount of time. The longer you remain active in general, the more benefits there may be, regardless of which group you are in. Is that vague enough? It should be. This is subject to change because it is forming as you read about it. Also, the descriptions below are generalizations, needed to serve as workable elements site-wide, and not intended to imply that all Members fit the mold being cast or don't always step outside of it. Pioneer100© Members The First 100 active Members received the "Pioneer100©" Title. They lay claim to being one of the first 100 people to become active Members. This Title is to recognize their willingness to contribute to a website that was raw and just starting out, lacking many of the bells and whistles it currently has. They made a path where none existed. They took more of a "chance" than others did. We suffered from a severe lack of traffic, and only had dim lighting and hints of ideas to seduce with. They gave and helped, anyway. System tech tags: founder, elder, builder, dragon Original500© Members This is the group being currently filled (and about to be closed), and they lay claim to being one of the first 500 active Members. They are recognized as the original group that fueled the site into some obviously solid activity. They are the first group to provide any real volume to the site, allowing for the first wave of significant system-wide improvements that required activity to assess. They took a larger gamble than most after them, and are largely responsible for the general lift out of the notoriously difficult starting stage of message board forums. Together with the "subset" of Pioneers, these first 500 Members are responsible for making 24 a respectable forum site. System tech tags: owner, governor, catalyst, mage Guardian1000© Members This is the group to be filled after the Originals, and those with this Title will lay claim to being one of the first 1000 active Members. This group is to be recognized as the original Guards against failure - it is they who will provide some broad confirmation of the system's validity and appeal from a marketing point of view. It is they who will secure and test the site as scalable and functional with our first effort at making it totally member-owned. It is they who will make it active enough to possibly engage in larger collaborations and sponsorships. It is they who will be enabling 24HourForums to courageously invest for long-term success and start advertising. They guard the investment and gamble made by those who joined and worked before them. They are the guardians of our Launch out of forum childhood. They allow us to test forum adulthood. This will be the last group to have a numerical indication in their Title.
