The current discussion in this thread brings up an interesting point. How influenced by your age are you on your answer to this topic? For my original answer to the question I picked 2 shows I saw in the 80's (U2 and MJ) and 2 shows I happen to see after 2000 (Seal and Sade). So the new twist to this questions is can you fav live show come from a recent show, or will you naturally default to one of the shows you saw when you were 18-25 and considered yourself "young" or "younger", lol

Well I know some of those concerts I listed were as recent as 3 years ago...... so don't go on some ageist kick with me young man! I can picture myself jumping around at any concert as long as I'm alive & still going to concerts. Much to the amusement of the younger crowd in the room I'm sure

We're always going to some show or another but we really enjoy local talent or going to small indy venues.

Our latest kick is the Rockabilly/Psychobilly scene.

Ender, thanks for the compliment

I don't think i ever want to grow up mentally.

Tool huh? Well I'm not anywhere near Denver though I'd love to be. That's one state I've never been to. It is on my list.

Last concert we went to I got into a fight. Almost threw some dumb girl over the railing in the Electric Factory in Philly.

Little bitch took my seat when I went for a drink. Where I come from, you leave the seat with the jacket alone. It ain't yours.

She decided her life was more valuable and then I cemented it when I said, " Look girlie, I'm not the one who will be calling my mommy to bail my ass out of jail tonight. You sure you want me to kick your ass?"

Matt sat there the whole time (to my left) discussing my mental stability with the guy next to him and taking bets who will be the one with the most blood on her face.

I won. :littleangel:
I didn't have to disfigure some woman's child and I got to enjoy the Dropkick Murphy's in peace.

You sure you want to have me at a concert with you?

OK, I'm probably showing my age here, but I loved Stadium Jam '80.

It was a wholoe day concert, so everyone came at noon. That was in the day when they let people bring coolers full of alcohol and it was at the Coca Cola stadium in Albuquerque. So we sat on blankets and drank wine coolers and beer and ate sndwhiches.

They had tons of frisbees flying all over (you had to watch your head!) but they also had a gigantic 30 foot canvas beach ball bouncing around the crowd.

At 1:00 they sprayed the crowd with fire hoses. (It was kinda hot that day) then after that they had sky divers parachute into the stadium!

Eddie Money started things off, followed by Ronnie Montrose and Gamma. Then Sammy hagar came on at dusk. (He was still in his "red" period) Sammy was still young enough to do flips off the amp stacks!

Finally, at 9 that night, after dark, Carlos Santana came on. His show wsa synchronized to fire works and at the end of the concert they had hot air balloons all around the stadium hit their torches and glow like giant light bulbs!

Truly a wonderful concert. (but man was I worn out after that day!)

Saint - was that "I can't drive 55" Sammy Hagar? He rocked then and with Van Halen.

Yep! I think his "Three Lock Box" album was out, but he played a lot of his early stuff (which if you haven't heard it is awesome!

I don't want to talk about "Van Hagar." Worst career move ever.

Well it wasnt that bad. They had a few huge its with Right Now and a few others.

About 2 years back I saw Hagar and David Lee Roth on the same bill at a show in Raleigh. Both guys were great and played all of their hits AND all of the Van Halen hits from when they were with the band. It was a great show and a lot of fun to see both. They switched each show who went first and who was the closing band. The day I saw them Hagar went first and DLR went second. Was fun.

Yeah... I guess I'm kinda biased.

Sammy's original stuff like "Mommy says, Daddy says, Red, and Trans Am" really rocked. He got watered down in Van Hagar.

DLR was the perfect choice for Van Halen. When he left things just kinda went sideways. Sammy tried, but to me...it didn't click.
