Let's talk actors/actresses.  Who do you like and why?  Here's a few of my favorites.

Robert DeNiro.  I've been a fan for years and when I saw him in Midnight Run, I laughed my ass off.  The only thing he hasn't seemed to master is how to cry believeably.  In Analyze This he was his typical hardass mob thug, but with a twist as he is looking for therapy.  Another hilarious one!  Then there's Cape Fear....need I say more?  Yeah, I really like DeNiro.

Al Pacino.  First time I saw him was in Scarface, years ago, and it is one movie I will watch over and over.  And The Devil's Advocate was another one that impressed me.  Naturally, all of The Godfather movies were fantastic.

Now, I'm not a huge Brad Pitt fan, mostly because I don't understand all the women who go ga-ga over him.  He's too pretty to think of that way, but I did like him in Meet Joe Black and in Legends of the Fall.

Anthony Hopkins.  WOW.  What an incredible talent.  Anything that man is in I will give it a shot.  After Slience of the Lambs I wasn't horribly impressed with the Hanibal Lechter movies, any of them, but the first was well worth it.

Robin Williams.  Another amazing talent, and although I haven't seen all his stuff, everything I have seen of his I like a lot.  Especially Patch Adams.

Michael Douglas.  In The Game, even though Seam Penn was in that one was another good movie.  And The Perfect Murder was another that I appreciated him in.

That's the tip of the iceberg of the actors I like.  How about you?

Mark (Marky Mark) Wahlberg: First saw him in Perfect Storm. Over the weekend we rented Shooter on Pay Per View. Did not think I would like it, but it was quite good. He plays a retired Army sniper who is framed for an assassination. It was quite good. He is one of the few actors where I would go see a movie BECAUSE he was in it.

Hmmm.......thats a big, big question UTR I'm going to have to give it some serious thought. Probably be easier if I go through them one at a time.

1 - Edward Norton. Outstanding in American History X and Fight Club (a film I can't believe so many people took seriously, its just a black comedy). His debut in Primal Fear was good, and he was completely unrecognisable as the Leper king of Jerusalem in Kingdom of heaven.

He is set to play Bruce Banner in the new Hulk film.

Yeah, I like Edward Norton, too.  I'll add Harrison Ford.  His "Air Force One" was great, but I wasn't too impressed by his latest, "Firewall."  Let's hope he redeems himself with "Indiana Jones 4"

Christopher Walken...  he has not had a bad role yet.  true, he has been in some "questionable" movies, but he is great in his roles.  Suicide Kings comes to mind as one of his best.

Willem DaFoe... same league as Walken.  has yet to have a bad role.  bad movies, yes.  but again he is great in his role.  Platoon, Flight of the Intruder, Born on the 4th of July are some of his best works.

OK, how could I forget....Morgan Freeman and Tom Hanks.  They are definatly the other two I would watch do anything.  Film them reading the back of a cereal box..I'm there watching.  Tom I have liked since forever.  Freeman since Driving Miss Daisy.

Tom Hanks: He's versatile and always interesting. He's come a long way since "Bachelor Party."

Mifune Toshiroh: OK, he was often typecast as a typical stoic samurai, but he could carry humorous parts, also (e.g. "Tsubaki Sanjuhroh"). "Samurai Rebellion" was one of his better flicks.

Clint Eastwood: He was definitely typecast as a rough loner with a chip on his shoulder, but he did it so well!

Sir John Gilgood: A sophisticated dry wit.

One thing I like about Tom Hanks...There are not too many actors who could have pulled off Castaway...considering he was solo for most of the film.  The only other actor I could have seen in the role was maybe Robin Williams,  especially the "discovering fire" scene.
