Few "horror" movies spook me out, and the slasher-type stuff bores me to tears.

But I do like a good ghost movie.  (Note I said a good ghost flick, which is unfortunately a bit of a rarity).

Probably the best for out-and-out spookiness that I recall is The Changeling, with George C. Scott.  Ghost Story had its moments, too.  I liked The Sixth Sense, too.

The Shining still terrifies me, and I've seen it several times now.

The last time I saw I was struck by the fact that there is very little violence or gore in this film and yet it is by far the most frightening movie I have ever seen.

I found that Don't Look Now made me feel uneasy when I first saw it.  And The Birds, and definitely Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.

Don't look know is cool, the awful moment where they lose their daughter is heartbreaking and very well acted.

The sex scene between Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie is explicit but also sensitive and realistic and honest.

And the payoff.............

***************SPOILER ALERT*****************

When he sees the small figure in the coat and thinks its his daughter, only for the figure to turn around and reveal itself to be a freakish midget with a meat cleaver who then proceeds to cut him to shreds ! ::shock::::questioner:::shock:::surp:: WTF ?!
