I notice that several of the files for Vacuum videos are no longer available. Here's some replacements for songs on The Plutonium Cathedral. "I Breath" "Science of the Sacred" And from Seance at the Chaebal, "Tonnes of Attraction" Last edited on 11:43 am by construct |

"Chariots of Fire" was the fourth and final single from BWO's Halcyon Days. It was a song that I really disliked when I first heard it, but I think that was because it made such explicitly religious refences--nevermind the fact that it discounts them in the same breath. In any case, the song has grown on me. And the video is a hoot. From the buxom girls to Martin presented as eye-candy to the singing chihuahua, it's fantistic. I can't quit without mentioning Marina's outstanding spoken section which includes the titles of this album and the next.** Take a look. It's terrific. I think one of the things that I find most attractive about BWO is that the trio structurally approximates a traditional family. Alexander and Marina are old enough to be Martin's parents. The image is then subverted by Martin's publicized relationship with a girlfriend and Alexander's gay-identified bisexuality. For her part, Marina avoids talking about sex or sexuality publically. Alexander can claim all he likes that BWO has no political content, but if it were redeployed in an American context, BWO would be about as political as the Village People. _________ ** BWO's third album was an album of remixes called Halcyon Nights. Maybe one day I'll get around to sharing the remixes on this thread, but I really don't think much of most of them. Last edited on 08:25 am by construct |
