Is his sort of humor (<----term used very loosely) like a "guy thing"?  Because I don't find him funny, a talented actor, or good for anything besides a reason to change the channel.  I saw one movie of his several years ago which was Elf, and nothing I've seen the previews for that he has done since shows me he has improved matters. In fact, he may have gotten worse.  Didn't think that was possible, but there is always the exception.

Frankly, I think he's a moron.  A waste of oxygen.

So please, tell me what you think of him and if you're a guy or a girl.

I don't think he's hilarious, but I don't think he sucks, either.  It depends on what he's trying to do.  I think he does a great GW Bush.  I think he picks the worst movie roles possible for himself.  I thought "Wedding Crashers" was good, but he wasn't good in that, either.

He was the one reason I stayed with SNL for as long as I did, though.

His movies are just a waste of my time.  I definatly do not see the humor in his movies.  But I, also, have never much liked "slapstick" comedy or movies of his genre anyway, so that may also influence my opinion of the guy.

EVERYONE that lives in my house thinks he is funny, EXCEPT FOR ME!!!

He's done nascar, figure skating, (I will admit that I got a Few chuckles out of that movie) and now basketball. Maybe I just don't get his brand of humor. I can't find anyone under the age of 35 at work that thinks Anchor Man was a stupid as I thought it was.

On the other hand. Who do we have to choose from for Comedy anymore? Where in the hell has Jim Carey been lately? He hasn't made a funny movie since Liar Liar.

Thank God for Ben Stiller....................now HE cracks me up. Meet the Fockers had me in tears. Adam Sandler is somewhat funny.......but, not so much anymore.

Why do people think Will Ferrell is funny ?

I grew up with US talent like Woody Allen, Bob Murray, Steve Martin, Dan Ackroyd, Chevy Chase, and Steve Guttenberg (No that last one was a joke ! wacca wacca !)

They all  had more comedic timing and natural comedic talent than Will "If I say this line really loudly will it be funny ?" Ferrell.

He is the emperors new clothes version of comedy, I'd rather watch I a Jim Carey film and I find him to be quite an insufferable c**t.

Sometimes what Will Ferrell does works, sometimes it REALLY doesn't.  A lot of the stuff he did on SNL was hilarious.  Blades of Glory, though, was laughably bad, but could have afforded to be more so, at least on the "laughable" part.  I think the thing is that he's not really naturally funny (take a look at when he's been interviewed... unless he's TRYING to be funny, he isn't, and in fact sometimes he's serious to the point of almost being funny).  Humor is something Will Ferrell has to execute, and if it doesn't come off well, it falls very flat.
