anyone see this or catch bits of it last night on CBS?  most of the lists were pretty spot-on.  But the WESTERN category was waaaaay off.

WESTERN
1. "The Searchers," 1956. good choice
2. "High Noon," 1952. good
3. "Shane," 1953. good
4. "Unforgiven," 1992. good
5. "Red River," 1948.  what?  no.  Dances with Wolves.  Much better choice
6. "The Wild Bunch," 1969.
7. "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," 1969.
8. "McCabe & Mrs. Miller," 1971. no judgement.  never heard of it.
9. "Stagecoach," 1939.
10. "Cat Ballou," 1965.  WTF?? are they kidding? where's Rio Lobo, Big Jake, Good/Bad/Ugly, Silverado, the Shootist??
How the West was Won. how did that not make the list?

I agree about The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

Personally, I've always been a big fan of The Outlaw Josey Wales, too.

I've gotta disagree about Dances With Wolves, though.  That was more romanticized fantasy than I could stomach.  If it'd been even halfway realistic, the protagonist would've lost his leg after he got shot and trudged through the muck with it.  (Just a little wonder of nature called bacterial infection and gangrene...)

I would have probably included the Misfits and Once upon a time in the west.
