There is a new NBC series with this title.  In it, five teenaged couples (18-19, no younger) who are convinced they are ready for a family are shown just how much work it is.

These kids are not just allowed to babysit for a few hours. No....they were moved into new houses, all by themselves.  They have to do everything that comes along with being a grownup - money management, food shopping, chore division...in one scene, the kids open a door to a room they have not yet been inside, and find boxes of baby things.  One of them says, "We have to put it TOGETHER???!?!?!" upon discovering the boxed-up crib.  Uh, yeah, princess, what did you think, they came assembled?

And then the capper...a day into this, they get BABIES.  Yep, real actual babies.  The real parents of these children are close by, watching on monitors.  Sometimes the parents intervene, but the babies are never in any real danger.

There is one girl on this show that is absolutely the most narcisisstic, self-absorbed, selfish little brat that I have ever seen.  She pouts when the mother of the child she's with tells her she has to feed him.  Hmm, there's a concept.  But the whole two hours (NBC broadcast two episodes tonight), I wanted to reach through the TV and bitch-slap this moron.  She is so not ready to reproduce, and I hope she learned this.  I won't spoil any more of it, but IMO, this should be required watching for anyone over the age of fifteen.

The name alone made me think this was some sick fu**ed-up "reality" show with the intent of God only knows what.  When I learned what it really was, I could not resist.  I had to watch.

For many years I have been of the opinion that the youngsters of our time have this genetic "mishap" for lack of a better word, that makes them more stupid than your average stupid person.

I've said many times that children today think that they are invincible, infallible and that "it won't happen to them".  Thankfully, this program gives them a slap of real-world reality.

I have  no patience or tolerance for what is termed as "reality TV" these days.  Like this show claims; it isn't reality TV, it is birth control.  While il it is on a local channel here, I hope many people across the country get to see it.

These children think they are ready to take on the responsibility of a home, a marriage, and scariest of all; a CHILD!  Most of the children I saw in this show have NO business reproducing, let alone committing to a long-term relationship.

I'll be watching this show with great interest, seeing who will admit that they cannot handle the lifetime committment of a home, a marriage, a family, and most importantly, a child.

If you can catch it, do so.  If you can have your kids watch it, do that as well.

It is truly birth control. I have been watching it also and it is an eye opener for this kids. It should be part of class curriculum in High School in my opinion. Very well done.

Like this show claims; it isn't reality TV, it is birth control.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up worn out screaming what a ride..
