I watch PBS for a change when I'm tired of canned TV.  I like the PBS run classical radio station in this area.  You can even tell the difference between the music a PBS station plays and a regular commercial station.  The PBS station has a better variety and gives a little background on the composers also.

PBS is great !

Real cooking, not some Hollywood Emeril type hawking cheap pans at K Mart.

Best travel shows on the tube, better than the Travel Channel.

The best music on tv (is Austin City Limits PBS ?) Michael Buble to Neil Young. No competition anywhere.

We picked up the NASA channel recently.  Between it, PBS, National Geographic, TLC and all of their various incarnations, I can finally find something worth watching.

Haven't you seen them all by now?  you need Netflix,  they have tons of British/Irish sitcoms/mini series/ and other countries as well.  We have just finished Elliot House (a three year program)  I hear Netflix has more to offer when it comes to foreign films.

They have tons of documentary's and the concerts you see on PBS and more.

I'm not saying stop PBS,  there is always something there,  but if you want to see a complete sitcom or miniseries from begining to end, or a different program that looks good this is a very good option.

IIn general I don't find a lot of good stuff on PBS. I find most of it's documentary to the left of the scale and it's programs a little slow for me.

the big comfy couch!!!

teletubbies!!

and yes. . . Elmo's World rocks my fricken socks!!!!

The rest of it sucks. Especially when the Christian sh*t comes on. I'd rather go hunting with Dick Chenney than be subjected to that crap.

I LOVE PBS for two very good reasons:

1.   Cosmos
2.   Sherlock Holmes starring Jeremy Brett
