foxglovepress wrote: Who would run this society? Basically, everybody on Earth. It does no good to pass laws on morality if no-one wants to obey them. Active, willing participation is required for the society to operate. As for the government, officials will be elected because of proven merit. There will be no nominations and no campaigning.

berinwitness wrote: foxglovepress wrote:Who would run this society? You're talking about a Heaven here on earth berinwitness. HUMAN NATURE alone won't let this happen. People are inbred to survive. Survival means at some point looking out after yourself and yours. People might be willing to a point....................there will be a limit to everyones playing "nice". The world is a HUGE place. I just don't see it happening without someone figuring out how to make money, or wanting it to be done their way, or someone wanting someones else's woman or man etc. etc. You'd have to re program human nature to have any chance of this..............

foxglovepress wrote: You'd have to re program human nature to have any chance of this.............. But isn't that the entire POINT of religion? to "reprogram" humans from their animal/human instincts and to inspire them to reprogram themselves to spiritual ways? It seems that if religion was able to do it's job at all, it would succeed in that very thing- so changing the ways people behave and act towards one another that we COULD have unity -- If we cannot achieve unity (even if just eventually and not right now), was Christ and His Faith as perfect and utterly powerful as God clains it is? I have faith that God and His Faith DO have that power to transform the entire human race to BE just that unified--- I believe that that IS indeed God's plan too ---- in His own time and in His own way, which may outwardly resemble ways and plans that mankind comes up with == But man's efforts made without God are always destined to fail, and to be hollow and empty of that one thing that can truly cause those efforts to succeed--- the love of God, faith in Him, and complete and utter trust in Him, with no judgement of others

How can you possibly think people will conform when they argue about WHAT the Bible or Koran or Buddha or Baha'i even mean?

well, that would all be where EACH of us becomes REALLY submissive to the Will of God, humble before His Face, utterly willing to obey Him.... ..not just like it is now where we all think WE know more than He does about what His words mean, and how we should live by them. There isn't a person out there who doesn't, deep down inside, have a little quiet voice telling them when THEY are the ones who decide to do something or think something --- telling them in that still small voice "you know God might not agree with you on that" We all have that inner voice -- it's best listened to in an attitude of prayer. But most of us cannot set aside what _we_ want out of our prayers long enough to truly hear that voice--- we are too busy telling God what we want, explaining to Him what we think He means in His books, talking about ourselves and our will, instead of truly simply asking Him for His Will. Most of all, when we do pray, we come to the table with reservations in our minds about what we can and cannot do, should and should not be asked to do, should and should not be asked to believe in. That lack of pure and utter emptiness of our cups, that lack of pure and utter trust in Him to tell us the Truth that He wants for us, that inability to _always_ remember that He will empower us to do _anything_ which He desires for us without any regard whatsoever for our situation, our supposed limitations, our supposed failings..... ..our inability to set all of "us" aside, including all that we are taught by our families, our cultures, our fellow members of our religion or our culture's religion... All of that is standing in the way of true Unity with God, and in the way of His Kingdom on earth.... ...but all of that is but the weight of a single seed from a daisy upon the great winds sweeping down from the Holy Mountain of His Will, and that seed and all our beliefs, ego, our failings, and all else shall be swept aside as nothingness.. Ever and always we fail to understand that: "There is no peace for thee save by renouncing thyself and turning unto Me; for it behooveth thee to glory in My name, not in thine own; to put thy trust in Me and not in thyself, since I desire to be loved alone and above all that is." Ever and always we fail to know that: "Wert thou to speed through the immensity of space and traverse the expanse of heaven, yet thou wouldst find no rest save in submission to Our command and humbleness before Our Face. " Because the only thing that we must truly remember is that: "He that hath Me not is bereft of all things. Turn ye away from all that is on earth and seek none else but Me. I am the Sun of Wisdom and the Ocean of Knowledge. I cheer the faint and revive the dead. I am the guiding Light that illumineth the way. I am the royal Falcon on the arm of the Almighty. I unfold the drooping wings of every broken bird and start it on its flight."
