Society does discriminate when corporately it concludes that an abnormality, condition or orientation does negatively affect the health, safety or quality of life of society as a whole.

Some of the questions that might be considered are:

Are there any negative consequences for children raised by homosexual couples?

Are there increased health risk in monogamous homosexual relationships versus monogamous heterosexual relationships?

And while many minimize the issue of reproduction in these arguments without reproduction humanity ceases to exist. Reproduction is an essential and fundamental aspect of human sexuality.
Disagreement and recognition of the principles and modern enlightenment I discussed are precisely why Churches are having the types of issues found in the initial post of this topic and why I believe the frequency of them will increase over time, alongside aversion to penalizing people for their gender.  I believe Construct said the Church was focused on gender equality.  I suspect that because that implies, at least partially, not penalizing just for gender, they are grappling.

Construct wishes us to wait for pictorial directory news of this grappling, so I shall.

I anticipate an article about Broadway's vote to postpone consideration of the pictorial directory this Friday or Saturday. I do not anticipate any really new developments until late February of next year.

Since you have not previously contributed to this thread, berinwitness, you might want to respond this weekend, but I expect this thread to remain mostly dormant until late February.

The only thing really new in this article is a picture of Brett Younger, Pastor of Broadway Baptist Church, Fort Worth, TX. My comments quoted in the article are not substantially different from comments I have previously made.

For this reason I am not reconvening debate at this time. However, if any member who has not previously contributed to this thread (e.g. berinwitness) would like to make their position known before debate reconvenes, this would be a good time to do so. Just don't expect any substantive response for a few months.
