Is this Jesus not only condoning the treatment of humans as property, but issuing instructions on how to punish them? I did some research on this quote and the "severely punished" was physical beatings and whipping type punishments. So, the Bible, and Jesus, condone physical violence upon captive and purchased people as well. Its based on punishment via Truth. I told you Truth is Truth.
I would have expected Jesus to say treat people as you would want to be treated, release your slaves, it is wrong to own and beat people as property, etc. But instead, we have instructions on how to manage and punish your slaves. No, your missing what is said. Those that do good and without, will be punished much less then those who know and do not.
This is New Testament stuff, is it not? Please explain how Jesus condoning slavery isn't fueling and condoning one of the worst byproducts of humans, ever. Please tell me how this is not anti-freedom and toxic to the good of mankind. Just curious. This to me proves the Bible is NOT for today (or by God) unless you want to get absurd and cherrypick and make excuses.
Its an exception of the innocents of heart...why don't you understand it. If I'm wrong in what I say am going to be punished big time, compared to you who says he doesn't know...if you do the right things.
Here are more New Testament verses on love, respect, freedom, and family values:
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. Debt slaves, still true today, we are to offer mercy as testimont. Today their are few who are not slaves to the devil via the Fed.... we are still to show mercy...but lets not get crazy when its owners call for our death...it means they didn't listen...things can change...but in the best respects show your colors by denying earth...ie time.
Here, the Family Values Book is once again condoning the horror of slavery (many were purchased children by the way), and telling them to be good little slaves especially if your master is a Christian abuser of human rights and freedom.
Do you understand what he other side offers people?...right now the other side is offering global genocide, but we don't even have to think about that....what you do for yourself isn't what you should be offering to others.
I can't protect myself, unless others are in danger. If my death means others will suffer then I have the right to fight....if its just me then I should die....and in doing so those that killed me are condemned.
I have no justification in myself (opposite of the devil...for all he does is of self)
if I am to spend my self for my brother or sister...I have full wrath...and it will be used ...justly.
Self is the problem...it removes angels from heaven...its still doing it.

Christians and Christianity supported, condoned and enable slavery for 18 centuries, including churches that owned their own slaves and issued slave tags. Let's not be silly and give credit to Christians for ending treating people as property. The world was already changing by then, Enlightenment was upon us.&n |
