The interesting thing here is that it seems that not doing enough to help the poor is a sin. Those responsible for contributing or doing nothing about the increasing gap between the rich and the have-nots will now have God to deal with.

VATICAN CITY - In olden days, the deadly sins included lust, gluttony and greed. Now, the Catholic Church says pollution, mind-damaging drugs and genetic experiments are on its updated thou-shalt-not list. Also receiving fresh attention by the Vatican was social injustice, along the lines of the age-old maxim: "The rich get richer while the poor get poorer."
He cited "violations of the basic rights of human nature" through genetic manipulation, drugs that "weaken the mind and cloud intelligence," and the imbalance between the rich and the poor.

Frank is merely posting a true story about religion on the religious forum.

Or is that one the of the "words of god" you choose to ignore/not cherry pick from the bible to share with us on a regular basis ?

I know what you mean, BUT, to be honest, I didn't really seek it. It was the first headline I saw in popular news at Yahoo where my email homepage is, and where I got the story. I posted a few varied stories this morning on the site, all from the same block of stories at Yahoo. I also put some value on "fun" in terms of judging overall benefit.
I also don't believe the Bible is the word of God, but I do appreciate your intention.

Frankly, Frank...
(Man! I've been waiting a LONG time to say that!)
I find some of the new "deadly sins" a little vague.
No genetic research? What about the possibility of growing new organs?
What about curing cancer or viral diseases? What about regeneration of tissue?
Genetics holds untold promise for mankind!
Obscenely rich? How is that defined? Of course Bill Gates is obscenely rich, but am I obscenely rich compared to a Chinese rice-picker?

Who started Genetic Research? Well Rockefeller who funded the Nazi's. They are the same occult family, making the same claims Lucifer did in the garden of Eden.

How about this? How about the "drugs" that were legal and widely used not that long ago, like hemp/marijuana? What about cigarettes - are the companies and smokers now sinners.

Had a Baptist preacher tell me one time, that smoking wouldn't send you to hell, it would just make you smell like you had been there.

Frank, I don't think God needs the Vatican's help on the sin list. I think he pretty well covered it in the Bible.

Until the Vatican can figure out a way to train their "religious men" to stop abusing children, then hiding the perpetrators, and............. totally make restitutions for allying with the Nazis in the attempted destruction of the Jewish race, they should collectively shut their mouths, not tell anyone else how to live, and go back into their collective closets so normal people can forget about and ignore them and their perverted ideas.
