"The conditions that are indicated in the Gospel for the second coming of Christ are the same as those that were mentioned for the first coming, as we said before."

Abdu'l Baha

JBF says: ::faint:: ::scratch::

"We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed. Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power, that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ."

JBF, I don't think their messiah will be coming from that direction. Not if I understand the bible correctly. Of course, someone will come in here and tell me I don't.

I was. He did. The choice was just as hard for me to make as it was for those who lived in the time of Jesus.

That's the main reason all this rapture and taking up, and descending on a cloud, or the LDS concept of Jesus appearing to the new world never satisfied me.

It seemed collossaly unfair for me to expect to see an outwardly miraculous event with everyone else on earth, with no doubt or test of faith involved.

Why should I not face the same difficulty the average Palestinian or Roman faced when Jesus walked amongst us.

If He came to judge the spiritually quick and the dead, why should I get an automatic 'A' for the test when Ananias, Caiaphas or Pilate got put to such a harsh test?

Regards,

Scott

Questioon #1. If he came the 2nd time why are you not living and reigning with him today?

Question #2. Why are you looking at Baha'u'llah if he and Muhammed are not here? Neither have performed what Jesus and the scriptures said He would do?

Jesus said, "Take heed that no one deceives you."

What did the Jewish authorities say about Jesus? Did those authorities accept Him as Messiah or did the Sanhedrin claim that He had not fulfilled the requirements put forth in the TaNakh (Hebrew Bible, what Christians tend to call the Old Testament)?

If Jesus did NOT fulfill those requirements literally, but rather fulfilled them spiritually why not the same criteria for Muhammed and Baha`u'llah?

Scott

:littleangel:

I am!  :heartbeat:

59. O SON OF BEING!
Thy heart is My home; sanctify it for My descent.
Thy spirit is My place of revelation; cleanse it for My manifestation.

Nice way to slide past a question, Mike.

#1: As Amy said: "I am." Baha`u'llah is the new Temple, however He delivered it in a large crate with the label: "Some Assembly Required."

The Kingdom of God is here, but the human race must see it established, that's our responsibility.

#2: Baha`u'llah and Muhammed ARE here--the book, the followers, Their spirits. Now why should we expect Muhammed and Baha`u'llah to fulfill YOUR concept of performance of prophecy. When Jesus appeared the Sanhedrin called Him a false prophet.

Which leads me to repeat MY question:

"What did the Jewish authorities say about Jesus? Did those authorities accept Him as Messiah or did the Sanhedrin claim that He had not fulfilled the requirements put forth in the TaNakh (Hebrew Bible, what Christians tend to call the Old Testament)?

If Jesus did NOT fulfill those requirements literally, but rather fulfilled them spiritually why not the same criteria for Muhammed and Baha`u'llah?"

Scott,

It is virtually impossible to carry on a productive conversation when almost everything is rolled upside down and placed into a symbolic allegory. With this type of word play...one can never have a firm foundation to build a discussion on.

Suchh is the intellectual process. Paradigms change. New understandings illuminate. Life goes on. Move it or lose it. Adapt or fail.
