JBF say's: "It "seems" that way."

There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.
Proverbs 16:25

Dear friend,

Let's see - You refuse to study your own religion and your only come-back is a quote from that very source? Do you really prefer ignorance over knowing yourself? How does pulling a Hilary like this advance Christianity? Oh, I think I get it: you loan yourself a quote and expect me to donate what I know to buy you out of it?

Free ::chuckle:: man

I am sorry you have been deceived Free ::chuckle:: man. In time maybe the mind will no longer be blinded and you will see the freedom in Christ and the way?

Dear friend,

"deceived"? Prove it(with more then a Bible quote).

In time, JBF, you'll learn you can not promise to deliver something you have not got.

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. - 1 Cor. 4:5 -

According to you the Lord has not come; so, you are not following the Bible.

According to me the Lord has come and the Judgement is as the light coming to dark places bringing the freedom of the counsels of the heart; Ya Baha-ul' Abha!

It simply blows me away hear someone say the Lord has come a second time and completely alter the biblical texts. Totally blows me away...

It simply blows me away that someone would take the responsibility to tell me how to think.

It simply blows me away that there is confusion and conflict between text-based organized religions. Who would have thought? Absolutely shocking.

Wha'st the difference between saying Christ came a second time in His spirit in the 1800s and a false christ coming as Jesus warned about?

It simply blows me away that Frank has yet to offer a credible alternative to the purpose of life and the future than text based organized religions. I am afraid that his alternative will fall under the religion of opinion and humanism/selfism.

It blows me away that you don't see how your personal emotional need to pick a purpose for life is what causes you to subscribe to a text-based organized religion. Put you and your emotional needs in another time and place and you would just as easily be advocating another organized religion besides your current one.  That is why people join such clubs - to feel like they know the deal and purpose of their life.  Humans like to have answers and know, and are not comfortable not having things packaged.  My position is that I simply do not know if there is some special purpose.  We seem to be just like the other species in essence, especially primates.  I am intellectually honest like that.  That is at the heart of what "blows you away" about me, it seems.

It's not "selfism" to just not know. JBF.  It's called honesty.

I'd love to hear how I have blinders on.  Observing the obvious and inherent problems with text-based organized religions is not having blinders on, it's simply readily identifying innate problems with something.  Someone doesn't avoid having blinders on, Scott, because they aren't able to acknowledge or see the inherent problems with text-based organized religions.

I do appreciate how you included yourself in the blinders comment.  We all have some blinders on for something, right?

Yes Frank, I also have blinders on. If someone is on the side saying, "Here, this is the way...come and listen." I look straight ahead at Jesus and keep walking.

I can't relate to blocking out critical thought and investigation while embracing one particular organization that revolves around the unknowable.  I can't relate to picking and choosing so absolutely in that realm because I believe we can't know the truth.

But I support your right to do so.  The problem happens when people want to convince others and spread the word, even to the point of murdering over it, as the Old Testament and other works promote.  Not wanting to keep one's particular view of the unknown and afterlife to themselves, due to emotional reasons basically, is what causes the fanaticism or negative activity, long-term.  That's where a good deal of the problems stem from.

No, the issue is personal decision to believe or not believe. That is the exercise of free will.
