we have a new one in our town. it is probably the only library that has a pond out front with alligator warnings! so send your kids to the library and they could be eaten. ....anyway, my new library has DVDs and VHS, pretty current. i am never going to go pay $5. for a movie at my video store again unless it's something i MUST see.

we live about a block and a half away from our public library so i spend a lot of time there. i just put my son in his stroller and we walk on over (of course, now he wants to walk everywhere instead of riding in his stroller ::eyemad::)

i love their story time for the little ones. Jared has so much fun with it, sometimes i cant get him to leave the library

my library has a great selection of DVD's and Magazines.  i live in Pacific beach which is a beach town just north of downtown san diego.  it's nice cause i can go and check out all the surf magazines i want for free.  they get all the latest issues and the cute girl who works there always holds the good new releases for me.  got to love the hook-up at the library.  they also have bootleg copies of old MXC episodes.  they are also getting the new MXC first season in about two weeks.  that's upon my request.  i do read on occastion as well.  i heard the library is a good place to find things too read.

I've found the local libraries to be the best sources for local history books. They have almost nothing on other subjects that interest me (except WWII). I check out DVD's there sometimes, too.

i've only had a computer for a couple years, and i love being able to quickly research things, and of course be in touch with friends around the planet....but there's something that appeals to me about browsing through the stacks at the library and finding some little treasure i want to read.

Not as much as I use to since I can now look everything up on the net. I do still pop in and read a few magazines that I am too lazy (ok Cheap) to buy.
