I got this idea after listening to the radio this morning.  They were talking about the Wizard of Oz for some reason (I missed the start of the conversation).  They were discussing the fact that Munchkinland had a Coroner, who had declared the Witch "Really Most Sincerely Dead"  .  They were just saying how odd that a place like Munchkinland would have a coroner.  One of the morning hosts laughed and said "Yeah, CSI:OZ.

So it got me to thinking, what if there were Crime scene investigators in fantasy stories, or  other childrens stories similar to OZ.

I figured that we all could contribute ideas to this thread...Our own CSI fantasy land story thread.

Have some fun, be creative.

I  will start.  Please read on for my contribution: CSI:OZ

Crime Scene Investigators: OZ

This episode plot summary: The OZ CSI team is called to Munchkinland to investigate the death of a witch, who apparently had a house fall on her.

The newly formed CSI team of OZ is called into Munchkinland after reports that a small wooden farmhouse fell on top of the Wicked Witch of the East.   The occupants of the house, a girl and a small dog, were apparently unharmed in the accident.

The munchkins, in a panic, called upon their guardian, the witch of the north for advice and assistance.  The CSI team were surprised to see that the residents of the land were apparently celebrating the death, by singing and marching through the town, declaring the young girl from the farmhouse a heroine.

The lead CSI met with the mayor and the coroner.  The coroner reported that he had thoroughly examined her and declared that the witch of the east was not only merely dead, but she was also most sincerely dead.

The teams’ investigation was hampered by the sister of the deceased, the Witch of the West (reported by the Munchkins to be even worse than the Witch of the East).

After the investigation was complete, the lead CSI, a man made of Tin, declared the death of the Witch an accident, and laid no blame on the owner of the farmhouse, and her little dog too.

CSI: OZ Another Unexplained Witch Death

The CSI OZ team was called out to the castle of the Wicked Witch of the West, to investigate her unexplained meltdown and subsiquent death.
It seems she was still involved in her on-going feud with Dorothy and her three travel companions. This due to the accidental death of the Witch of the East.
When they got to the crime scene, they found, in the middle of the foyer, a large black puddle of murky sludge, wilt a sulfery smell eminating from it. The witch was not to be found,
The castle guards, who witness the event, described the disappearance this way: They claimed that she was tormenting the travel companions of Dorothy, and attempted to set one on fire. Dorothy, apparently in an effort to save her friend, grabbed a bucket of water and threw the liquid toward him. In putting out the flames, the water also covered the witch, who, according to one guard, and a severe allergy to it. It caused her to melt.
CSI took photos and samples of the sludge and sent it in for DNA processing at the lab. The results confirmed that the sludge was, indeed, the witch. They closed the case as yet another accidental death. Dorothy and her companions were never considered suspects in a criminal case, and they closed the case of the witches.
In fact, though it was part of the evidence of the scene, Dorothy asked for and recieved the witch's burned broom as a token of her visit.
