I saw "Rush" in Albuqueque the other night.  It was a blast and I was really impressed with the state-of-the-art in venues these days. They played for a ear-hurting three hours!

Although you couldn't bash your way down to the stage anymore, it wasn't necessary since they had 5 massive 30 foot screens and lasers, etc.

This week the Beach Boys will be performing here ($100 per ticket?  They must think a lot of themselves!)

And of all things, ABBA is coming to our new performing arts center in July! (Only one original member, the girls think they are too old, and one of the guys died, but truthfully, I think it's a good idea to replace the girls with younger girls for sound's sake!)

Have you seen or are you going to see a concert this summer?

What's the best concert you've ever seen?

I'm going to see the Gin Blossoms in June and Counting Crows in August.

I haven't been to a lot of concerts in my life, but the best one so far was Gin Blossoms back in 2006.  I saw them at the Morristown Community Theater.  The reason it was the best is because it was such a small, intimate venue.  I actually got to meet the lead singer after the show.   That's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to that concert in June.  He's a down to earth guy and doesn't mind chatting with the fans a bit.

Every year here in Chattanooga, we have the Riverbend Festival. It's right on the Tennessee River, and in fact, the reason they call it Riverbend, is because of Moccasin Bend just a little ways downstream from where the festival is held. The main stage is on a barge tied to the bank. If you buy a pin before the festival starts, it cost $28.00. The festival runs for 9 days staring on June the 6th, and ends Saturday, June 14th. Here is a list of the groups who will be there(just click where it says lineup). As you can see, America, and ZZ Top are going to be there. They always have several big names, and the rest are up and coming groups. It is well worth the $28.00 admission price, if you can stand crowds up to 150,000.

Oh yeah, there are plenty of food vendors, and beer tents.
