Never could get "into" Randalls.   A buddy has urged me to for years and years.

But never did.

I did however, try my hand at some filework on a few of my folders just a few weeks ago.

A Victorinox Alpineer

Spyderco Delica

Fallkniven U-2

Those are fancy! I like em and wish I had more time to get into them, my collection consist of an old drawer filled with pocket-knives from the 30-40's and an old marine show sword from WWII , a couple 1950.s replicas from japan (3) and one old 1863-65 union civil war sword.

Some are just amazing and works of art. The knives you show are precision made and made much better than say an 18th century blade that was folded 72times. I like the price of the newer blades, but love the history of an older blade.

There is a martial arts guy, I forget his name he was in a few movies as an evil dude, he makes his own knives and weapons, very colorfull and usefull @ the same time. I will try to find his name in my old TKD times mags.........great file work! pyrite!::thumbs:: patience is a virtue................kinda rare nowadays.

I have an antler-handled Randall knife that my grandfather gave me in 1982.

Unfortunately, I likely ruined any collector value it had by using it as my first dig knife when I started detecting.  The blade held up nicely where any other knife would've snapped in two, and the Randall is still intact today, but it saw quite a bit of service as a sod-cutter until I got my first hori-hori knife for digging.  (Which I am still using, twelve years later).

BTW, mine is a larger hunting knife, not a folding knife like some of the ones you showed?
