I have been following the idea of being able to fax a product,make prototypes and generaly creating a solid object from your 3-d graphics last months popular science mag had an article in it about creating things and letting someone across the globe fabricate it. I found it interesting and thought for sure that ceramics would be used. But it uses plastic,nylon,glass beads and flecks of metal.

    This would be a great engineering tool the price has dropped from 20,000 to 5,000 maybe coming to a house near you.   Here is the product      I am not affiliated with this company just found it interesting.
