This was made from an 1893 columbian expo (I have I think a dozen)

I whacked this for a good hour with a small ball-pean hammer

Then once to the outside diameter of my wedding ring I put a hole in it (never use your 1/2 " press brake it just warps it!) using a 1/2" drill bit stepping up from 1/8 to 3/16 to 1/4 etc.

after fixing the warping

after drilling and filing. Fit's perfect on my pinky

This took me maybe 4 hours but was fun to make as I streched it out over a few days.

This came out better than my first 2 but worse than my third one. After burnishing it's fairly shiney. After I did this I found my bucket of step drills and kicked myself for being impatient.

Sorry the pictures stink but it's what I have for a camera now a cannon 510.

This post is a reply to donia asking me to post pictures of my spooned coin rings.

My wife thinks I'm nuts for messing around with things like this instead of "mowing the lawn" or "fixing the roof" and such..............................just kidding she "knows I'm crackers!" and knows it's best to ignore me.::sgrin::..............except on trash day.

WOWOWOWOW!:iwon:You win the prize!!! I think that is great. I have not seen one of those before and it is pretty darn cool.

I can't believe that you just went out and made one to show me what it looked like just because you can't find your other one. You ROCK! :bang7:

Thank you for showing me. Do you ever consider making more and selling them? I think that you should, because it is very interesting and different.

I believe there may be a few coin collectors here that have done these and I suspect probly better than I did. But I would rather give them away. You should try one.::nsmile:: It kinda makes you forget all about the world for a few hours.

Those rings are neat, and I think it's cool that you can make 'em!

Did you have to murder an old Columbian half, though? Ow! Use a Walker or Franklin next time!
