Collectors judge advertising tins by product, color, design and condition.

A tin for expensive candy is more desirable than a tin for acne cream.

Similarly.

Bright reds will generally outperform dull browns.

Dents, paint loss and rust severely diminish the value of a tin.

The majority of collected tins date from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.

There is quite a market out there for these.

And if your lucky enough to live in a drier climate you will be surprised at how well these have kept.

As the years go by these little treasures become more scarce surcomming to the elements and neglect.

A true picture of the past and to me it is a view of the past and what my grandparents and great grandparents saw everyday.

Some can be called works of art.
