I went to breakfast this morning at a cool place that had 45's in frames along with newspaper clippings of the artist. On the wall was Elvis,The Beatles, Chubby Checker and the list goes on. So at the end of the day I started looking through my old 45's and found a few Beatles and some James Brown. I have been always interested in these as some of the flip sides had better songs than the side that was thought of as a hit by the record exec's.

So my question is , Do you have any 45's , do you play them, would you display them and play the C.D. and just look at them on the wall and imagine they are spinning a tune. I find them @ yard sales and just cannot resist buying them for 10 cents a song.

I may just put a few in frames and add a newspaper clipping or two........and make my own breakfast.

Those places are fun aren't they!  I like the one's that have the little juke boxes at each table too.  Some of the old Root Beer places had those.  Mud has some 45's I think.  He'll pick up on this, I'll bet ya!  ::nsmile::

my sister has all my old 45's stashed in her attic. they've probably melted by now. ::music::

but i do have some 33 1/3 1913 thick heavy vinyl recordings of Enrico Caruso that my Dad left to me. i'm going to buy a turntable soon so i can listen to them as well as other records i have collected. i used to haunt the used record stores of cambridge MA. and collected MANY record collections that will never be available on disc. ...blues, old atlantic stuff, buddy holly never-released, and hard-to-find very collectible stuff.

I kind of wish I had kept mine, had a big collection of 45s and albums.  But when my stereo broke down, and it would have cost more than it was worth to fix it, I just got rid of it, and donated all my albums.

Yep!  I have all  of mine!  My very first rock-n-roll record was a 45.  I bought it in 1973? I think?  I got it from "Scholastic Book Club" at the school. (It was the first year they had records as well as books)

On side "A" was "Turn, Turn, Turn" and on the back side was 'So You Want to be a Rock and Roll Star"

I also got The Carpenters "Goodbye to Love" and "Sing" at the same time.

I have quite a collection of 45s, as well as LPs, and I still have some 8 Tracks left. I have an 8 track tape deck in my VW van that still works, and yes, I listen to them when I get the chance. I love listening to the vinyls, even with all the popping and cracking, and just sit there and think back to what I was doing when the records were new. Awesome.

I have a lot of 45's and like dawb I got a load of 8 tracks. The player broke a few years ago and I haven't replaced it. I also have several 100's of 33 LP's and about 15-18 78's I got from my Mom

Enjoy the pleasure of life

I can't remember the last time I saw some 78s. I guess that would have been when I was a kid.

I still have my first 45, the single "Eleanor Rigby" by the Beetles with the green apple on the label.

That song always makes me shed a tear.

I found another one in the garage:

Little Willy
( Sweet )

North side , east side
Little Willy, Willy wears the crown, he's the king around town
Dancing, glancing
Willy drives them silly with his star-shine shimmy, shuffle down
Way past one, and feeling alright
'Cause with little Willy 'round they can last all night
Hey down, stay down, stay downtown

'Cause little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy 'round, Willy won't go
Try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home

Up town, downtown
Little Willy, Willy drives them wild with his run-around style
Inside, outside
Willy sends them silly with his star-shine, shimmy shuffle smile
Mama done chase Willy down through the hall
But laugh, Willy, laugh, he don't care at all
Hey down, stay down, stay downtown

'Cause little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy 'round, Willy won't go
Try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home

Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't
Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't
Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't
Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't

Little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy 'round, Willy won't go
Try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home

Little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy 'round, Willy won't go
Try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home
