I won this in the last Heritage CAA auction:![]() These notes are called Series 1914 Federal Reserve Notes. This one was printed for the Richmond, Virginia Federal Reserve Bank District. That's what the "5-E" means. Based upon the signatures, this particular note was probably printed in 1920. The reverse vingnettes symbolize an agrarian culture turning into a manufacturing culture. ![]() What's in your wallet?

Yikes! You're going to be collecting stamps next! I guess it's better than a $10 note with Andrew Johnson on it. If nostalgia ever gets the better of me, one of these days I'll look for a note from my home town. I've seen a photo of one, but I bet it'd be pricey.

I've collected currency for the past several years now as the onslaught of tons of coins has crushed the coin collecting gene. Here's a note from a bank about a mile from my childhood home: ![]() ![]() This is the second city for this bank, even though the bank didn't move. I have an example from Georgetown, DC, but I don't have an image available. Interestingly, even though there are some 43 notes with the Georgetown, DC address and only 13 known with the Washington address, the Georgetown notes are quite a bit more valuable.

Oy gewalt! That's a nice looking national you have there! Don't tempt me toward notes-- I have too many hobbies as it is.
