I'll admit, I'm a Blog virgin.  Never blogged before.  I'm more a lurker than anything, but this presented an interesting opportunity to spew.  I thought I'd give it a shot.

What's CoinGeezer's Blog about?  Hell, I don't know.  It'll probably reflect the things that I currently think about more than anything.  I'll probably bring up a story from my past now and then.  I have a 2 year old that makes me laugh every day, so those stories will probably make it to these posts as well.

I like politics (I'm a far right extremist conservative, so die libs) and I attend church every week, so those two topics will see some light here, as well.  I read the forums regularly, so I may take a cheap shot at some of you, but I'll never be mean.  It's not in my nature.

Stick around.  Let me know what you think.  You may enjoy some of it.  I promise Liberals won't like much, but that makes me happy.

I'll start with a poem I wrote when I was a Sophomore in High School.

The Fly, by CoinGeezer

One fine summer day,

While eating a pie,

I happened to look up

And notice a fly.

It was staring at me

With it's compound eye,

the kind of an eye

that belongs to a fly.

I continued to eat

My lemon meringue pie

When all of a sudden,

The Fly said, "Hi!"

I looked up again,

And again it said, "Hi!"

I started to wonder

and then I asked, "Why

Is it that all other insects

Cannot say hi,

Or for that matter

Cannot even sigh?"

The Fly sat silently,

Then it started to fly

And then it proceeded

to ask me, "Why

Is it that humans

Cannot fly?

Why don't they have wings?

Why can't they go high?"

So I smashed the little insect

And this caused him to die,

And I said, "Little bug,

That will teach you to pry!"

Politics.

First, let me say that I like partisanship.  No, not the kind of partisanship that most people think of when that word comes up...you know, Republicans sticking together and Democrats doing the same.  Not that kind of partisanship.

I like the vicious kind... negative, scurrilous remarks used specifically to knock the opposition off-their-game type of partisanship.  The meaner, the better, I say.

Of course, the remarks have to be grounded in truth.  Libelous and defamatory statements about the opposition really need to be held in check, and should only be used in extreme cases.  An example of this kind of partisanship being used too freely and without factual basis is when Democrats open their mouths.

And that brings me to my thesis:

Democrats and Liberals are dangerous for this country's survival.

Let me explain.  At this time, and for decades in the past, the Left's positions on a myriad of issues have been not only contrary to this nation's well-being, but have consistently undermined our national identity, security, and our safety as citizens of this greatiest nation on Earth.  As a group, with nearly no exceptions (Joe Lieberman notwithstanding), the Liberals in America today are invested in our defeat and demise.  The positions they take and the policies they support have at their root the core value that America is not only nothing special, but it's actually the embodiment of evil in the world today...the Hate-America-First mentality.

In order for Democrats to be successful and regain the power they held for over 40 years in Congress, they have positioned themselves in a way that only comes to fruition if several things bad for America fall into place:

1.  The economy needs to completely tank.  Every day, we're told that we're on the edge of an economic disaster.  The economy sucks, and George W and Republicans are to blame.  Yet though we are in the middle of a war, and recovering still from one of the worst natural disasters to hit the southern coast in America's history, all economic indicators are showing amazing signs of sustained and growing expansion.  Democrats want the economy to be bad so they can blame GWB and be returned to power.

2:  Iraq is not a part of the War on Terror and we should pull our troops out now.  I find this illogical argument to be the most troubling of all.  Only by our defeat in a war against the most evil group of tyrants in centuries will the Democrats be able to say "I told you so", even if it means 2500 or more US servicemen and women will have died in vain to prove them right.  Not to mention the fact that the vacuum that would be created in Iraq by our withdrawal of troops before Iraqi security forces are ready to take over would see the immediate occupation of Iraqi territory by Syrian and Iranian regimes that all harbor terrorist groups.  That in itself is justification to stay as long as it takes.  Of course, we could always redeploy to Okinawa.  Yeah, that's the ticket.

3:  We need to apply the Geneva Convention to Gitmo detainees.  Actually, let's not be naive about this line of thinking.  It really has nothing to do with the detainees themselves...it's simply an attempt to undermine GWB's war effort.  By disallowing him access to knowledge these terrorists have, they can once again say "I told you so.  GWB is an idiot."  By our defeat, and possibly the enabling of terrorists to hit us again, killing perhaps thousands more, can the Liberals place themselves in a position to play white knight on a steed riding to our rescue, thus regaining power.

There are many more, but I don't want to type until next week.  It's not only dangerous to vote Democrat, it's unpatriotic.  Yes, I accuse Liberals of not loving their country to the point that it takes a back seat to their political aspirations of power.  To allow them to take back the Congress at this time in our history would be a tragedy and would take decades, if not centuries, to repair.

Friends don't let friends vote Democrat.

Well, after that latest political rant, I'd like to lighten things up a bit, but first, I'd like to comment on the Clinton Interview on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace...

I think the whole episode was contrived and concocted by Clinton and his staff to bring some much-needed backbone to his fellow Democrats.   Period.  Are we to believe that the greatest politician of our time (besides Karl Rove) was stupid enough to walk into a situation that took him off-guard the way it was portrayed on Sunday morning?

Hell no.  Clinton knew exactly what he was doing the entire time, and it was designed to stop the negative freefall that Dems are seeing in the polls.  Show some guts, get some support.

Comments?

Now, for something completely different.

Airplanes!!!

Here is my top 10 list of favorite airplanes, in order...

1.  Chance Vought F4U Corsair (especially the 1A variant)

2.  Lockheed P-38 Lightning

3.  Piper J-3 Cub (Pre-war wooden spar models mostly)

4.  North American F-86 Sabre (F model)

5.  Curtiss P-40 Warhawk ( I like the -B variant and the -E too)

6.  Grumman F8F Bearcat

7.  Grumman F-14 Tomcat

8.  Republic Fairchild A-10 Warthog

9.  Grumman F4F Wildcat

10.  Messerschmitt Me-262

That's my list.  Please feel free to comment if you like!
