Hope I am doing this right.  I have read all of the things I was supposed to read, hopefully.

I recieved the link to this place at another forum, think it was a coin forum.  I am interested in silver coins.  My interests in collecting varys and change quite often.  I do a lot of reading and research, raise birds, and raise a few plants.  Enjoy about anything outside.

Hi, Johnt.

Welcome to the forum.  ::whello::

I hate to be a stickler for details, but you have to specifically confirm reading the Official Site Greeting.  Once you've read that, we can transfer you to full forum access.

Again, sorry to be a stickler, but the Official Site Greeting is pretty important. :giantgrin:

Hi johnt, when you're transfered, I'd love to know what birds you raise, and what plants! I use to have large parrots, and I love plants, both outside and indoor!

Thanks for the transfer.

I have raised many different species of birds. At this time I have several species of finches, canaries, and diamond doves. Just finished a new flight pen and have started to stock it.

For the first time I tried the straw bale gardening. So far it is going great. Also raise tropical plants, succulents and catcus. Like anything that vines. I planted some gourds and they are getting a little out of hand.

I love doves, I don't know what the different types are though.  Do you ever make bird houses out of your gourds?  They sell them at the Farmers Market here every Tuesday and Saturday.  Some are painted, others are just left natural, those are my favorite! They make fun maraca's for the kids too!   It sounds like you'll really enjoy the coin forums here as well........

Yes, I make quite a few birdhouses out of gourds.  Also do some carving, woodburning, and painting on the gourds.  There are many uses for gourds.  This year I am raising the long snake gourds.  Haven't figured out what I am going to do with them yet but looks like I will have a good many of them.

Diamond doves are one of my favorite species of doves.  They are one of the smallest of the doves and have a nice bell sounding call.  Come in several different colors and are easy to raise.

Lately I have been buying silver eagles.  First started out with the collector books.  Filled up a few then got interested in mint and proof sets.  When ever my interests change I put the other coins in storage.  I was interested in bullion for a while and bought some rounds and bars along with old silver coins.  Really don't have anything special.  Even bought a little sterling silver.

There is a coin store near me that will give me pretty good deals on just about anything.  I try to only buy when the price is down.

Silver Eagles are great. I had bought a tube years ago I knew would get "circulated" just so we can touch them. They really are beautiful when new.

Well I say, collect what you like, I do. I'm not a speculator in the cdoin collectings. More of what you might call a hoarder of coins. Mostly World Coins

I would be interested in your gourds, can they be turned into birdfeeders? ! would love to give it a try. My family and I like to watch birds in the winter and I really need to get more out there. Woodburning is fun to do also.::thumbs::
