I don't like the idea of having to mention some other post in my first post while I'm figuring out how these things work. It's pretty silly, really. I mean, when you join a social group or club, do you have to say "Hi, my name is . . . and I read the flyer with the address of this meeting on it. I'm sure that somewhere someone is seeing all the newbies mention it and laughing at the raw power they have to put words into people's, er, posts.

No, I will not mention what I am supposed to mention (unless I did already), because like the great Fonzie and Zuckerkorn before me, I'm a rebel with a cause--or at least a correlation. This might be all over the place, but I really don't know what to say and am way better off in a topical forum where the topic isn't me. I'm seriously not self-absorbed enough to do it, and I've had to do it so many times in my life that I just can't bring myself to do it on a message board tonight.

Hello, thanks for joining.  Part of the reason we have this system in place is because we want to know a bit about the person before allowing them full access to our private areas and our little world in general.  Another part is to filter out or correct problems and understanding before the transfer to full access.  After that, problems can compound and become harder to deal with, whether technical or behavioral. 

So far what I get from your posts is that you if you don't feel like following a request or rule by the house you will refuse to, and that the rules are silly.  Not good.

When you are done reading and confirming having read the Official Site Greeting, which is stuck to the top of this forum, and make an appropriate introduction, I will consider your renewed respect for the house and its rules or requests.

Please understand that body or post count means very little to me.  All that matters to me is that I hold you to the same basic standards as everyone else.  That means I can't be irresponsible and let someone in who is already defying the rules and showing disrespect to the house ... even calling them silly.  That's not going to fly, and transferring you in after you took such a position is what would be silly.

All you had to do was confirm that you read the Greeting and tell us some things about you so that we get a sense of who you are.  Surely if you can write what you've written in this thread already, you are perfectly capable of meeting such a challenge.
